Found this forum in a post in one of Amazon's forums and it's GREAT! Looks like you've put a lot of time into it, Sporadic, thanks!
I've had my Kindle for about 4 months now and went a little crazy buying all the books that were on my "to read" list that I didn't even realize until recently that many books are FREE (or less than $1.) I'm so glad I found this forum...I've already downloaded several books in the past hour or so that I've been here. I'll most definitely be popping in from time to time to see what's new.
Thanks also to sirbruce for the post about Dead Man's Rain being free beginning 6/14 - I've marked my calendar!

Thank you, I'm glad you like the thread.

I went through the same thing you did when I first recieved my Kindle. I bought about $80 worth of books before I realized that there were a ton of books for free on Amazon. Only problem was I had to go through various threads in the freebie forum and constantly check the bestseller list in hopes of finding one. The list is actually easier to maintain. It give me a list of titles to check to make sure they are still free and there are a number of great members who will post their findings in here.

I actually spend less on books with the free samples. Anything on my "to read" list got sampled. I don't buy books until I read the sample.

I do the same thing, always get the sample first. Problem was, after reading the samples of all the books on my "to read" list, I ended up buying them all! I've gotten quite a few free books over the last several days though so I should be good with those for awhile.

Although while looking in another thread last night I remembered a series I used to read and had forgotten about and there are 5 more books in the series so I will probably be buying all those soon!
