Thanks for explaining. I hadn't triggered that or hadn't noticed. It wouldn't be bad if it actual worked like it does with books but taking you to the articles list.

What else is a clock to do but display the time? Is having some order a bad thing? Back when I was reading with my T1, someone on MR modified the reading software to display a clock. I thought it was a good thing to have the clock and I still like the idea of a clock. It's very easy to lose yourself in a book and read for longer then you intended.

Ideally we'd have options to add the clock to the header when reading too...
and an option to turn it off off everywhere else to make everyone happy.

But until one or both of those exist, I guess I'm keeping miniclock and redundant clocks on some screens.

Send some feedback to kobo ref your quote and they said they're looking into it for a future firmware. Fingers crossed they don't take too long

an option to turn it off/on everywhere would be nice for those who don't need/want a clock on their ereader.

Choice is always good where possible, but I'm thinking that some people must spend A LOT of time on their home screens rather than in an actual book if the presence of the clock is troublesome. Since it is not visible without user input when reading, the only place where seeing it is not by active user action is the home screen, which for me is not somewhere I linger.

I've missed having the clock available outside a book. I do look at it when deciding on what to read. If I finish a book, notice it is late I might decide to sleep instead of reading. Especially if I have trouble choosing something. That's usually a sign to check the time. I don't want the clock in front of me when reading, but, having it easily accessible is good.

This is pretty much me,too. I glance at the clock when I am on the home screen, and find it helpful, sufficiently so to warrant changing my locale to see the "real" time, 24hr time.
For me, Kobo has struck a near-perfect balance of accessibility and unobtrusiveness. That aside, I can more easily understand the concerns of those who want to see it constantly than those who want it gone completely, since its presence is so relatively fleeting.

the clock isn't a new thing, i'm running a version 3 firmware and it's on the home screen every time i access the top right menu. going by some of the comments on here Kobo must have dropped it at some point. it's good to know they do bring back features that some people may want.

edit. when you have 950 pages of books and want to go to a specific page the scroll bar is (to put it kindly) insufficient/undesirable.

best wishes koboy

Huh, I like the scrollbar. It works well on my Forma. If the book should be about halfway through my list, just tap the scrollbar in the middle and instantly there. It would nice to always have the page x of y showing and the ability to type in page numbers too.

i agree with your last point. Kobo should have kept the go to type in page numbers while adding the scrollbar as a new feature/option.
