hello guys! I tried to change SD to my aura ed 2, but with the new SD (sandisk 16gb class 10) it wouldn't start. I cloned it from windows with "Aoemi backupper". Now, unfortunately, I also lost the image of the old card. Could someone please help me?

I would need the image of kobo aura ed.2 and above all, can you tell me with which program to put it on SD? Can it be done from windows?

Is this the version 1 or version 2? The hardware is different, and they need different images. You can tell from the serial number can tell you. In this, 7th character of the serial number will be a 0 for the first version and 2 for the second version.

Could I trouble you for an Aura N514 image?

Assume the serial number is the 17 character string on a white label on the main PCB? If so, 7th character is a '2', so version 2 please.

"N514" is the model number of the original Aura. That does not have a removable SD card and I do not have an image for it. And the serial number is 13 characters long. I don't know if it is printed on the PCB or not.

Thanks for the quick answer. Helping a mate out with his Aura so sorry for the model info stuff up. I've been asked to look at it and its currently bricked

This Kobo has "N514" written by its removable SDCard, so I'll try asking to see if anyone has an image. Unless that SDCard is just used as external memory?

This is exactly the situation I am experiencing - right down to this Kobo being used as an XCSoar flight computer.

Thank you again David.

That image worked and brought the Aura back to life. Unfortunately I think the root cause of all the shenanigans may have been the on-switch. This Kobo uses a slide switch which looks horribly fragile. By the end I was powering up by plugging in power.
