A firmware release tomorrow fits in with the general pattern of firmware releases from Kobo. Releasing on a Monday as the service reps have suggested is not like them. My assumption has been that someone said "the week starting ..." and that was passed along as "on ..."

The delay from last week to this week was to make sure certain bugs were fixed and nothing worse crept in.

Ha! I can top this:

From 60% at 11 pm to 22% 4 hours later (3 am).

Recharged it for the remainder of the night and now there has only been a loss of 4% during the last six hours of sleeping mode.

I want my update. Now.

Yup, that's indeed what it looks like. Fingers crossed, though, that it won't have to be delayed *yet again*. I must add that I'm prepared to be patient about it, for the simple reason that I just can't see myself returning to a smaller screen!

My first full charge lasted 2 weeks. I use it 15 minutes per day. So it's really Well below the expected month.

I got my One on Sunday, charged it fully on Sunday night. By yesterday evening, 48 hours later, it was to 50%. That was at about midnight last night.

This morning I was disappointed to see it informing me "battery low" - which turned out to be 10%. It had lost 40% in 7 hours or less.

I'll admit I've been trying to get Sudoku to work so I can't fairly comment, and have an open mind. But there seems to be a pattern among other owners. It's quite a nice device otherwise - I love the display size and the "mood lighting" - I just wish they'd stop removing features that help make it unique (i.e. the games.) It baffles me that they'd remove things like sudoku and chess from a device which is perfect for that kind of activity. Yes, reading as the priority, but sometimes it's nice to do something else and in a way that doesn't require something like a tablet to do it.

Hi, maybe it's already said but I solved my battery drain problem so I hope these lines could be useful for someone with problems.

When I received the ereader I updated it via WiFi and I suffer the battery drain problem for some days; even the ereader shutted down 3-4 times when I was reading a book and battery level was about 50%.

I decided to reset to factory defaults(plug the device to the usb and press the button form 20 seccs) and I updated the device using Kobo Desktop on my PC; when I did that, the problem of battery was solved.

Anyway, I'm still waiting the new firmware version to see if page turn speed is improved.

I'm loved with this screen size ! Can't use my kindle anymore.

Best regards

Same problems here

I have had my Aura One for just over a month and it has gone completely flat from around 90% overnight more than 5 times.

I have found it sometimes unresponsive changing pages while reading as well but not nearly as frequent a problem as the battery draining.

Was Wi-Fi turned on or off when that happened? And AutoSync? And in case AutoSync was turned on, to what time of day was it set?

I leave wifi off unless I am syncing manually. I do seem to have autosync enabled though. I wouldn't be surprised if it is some combination of sync and auto backlight issue.

Hmm, having autosync on shouldn't be an issue with Wi-Fi turned off, because the device can't perform something it isn't enabled to do, and therefore can't lose its charge over that, but yeah, if you have the auto backlight turned on, that should be the cause of the drop in your case.

I have had the device drain overnight from 90%+ with autolight off. I think something more is happening.
