It should be there -
Can you run KUAL ?

If not, run the 'hotfix' again.

Note:
Every time you change the Kindle's registration status or touch 'reset' menu selection - you **MUST** re-install the 'hotfix'.

Ok so you did the jailbreak, applied the hotfix then updated?
If this is the sequence you used then reapply the hotfix.

What firmware were you originally on?
You already said yes to special offers.
Which jailbreak did you download?
What OS did you use?

Those are my main concerns.

I've been trying to do this for the first time on my new PW3 and I hang after the downgrade and then reset it with DO_FACTORY_RESET. The issue is I run ;installHtml and it just takes me back to home without doing anything else. What am I doing wrong?

Post here with your results and give us the link to the directions you are following, I thought I had that clearly described in mine.

@itsminjabruh: ;installHtml failing after a factory reset is expected.

The current workaround seems to be re-installing the 5.6.1.1 "downgrade", which should then boot properly, and allow you to install the JB via ;installHtml.

We're still investigating what might be going wrong in the first place...

You guys are insanely quick! Thank you. I haven't seen a hacking community this friendly since my PSP days. It is "updating" now and hopefully I'll be able to get it hacked and updated to 5.8.1 soon. I just really wanted custom screensavers, don't even know what else I can do.

I used the instructions from the first post of this page. When the error occurred I googled the issue and it was just a random reddit post saying to put a Do_FACTORY_RESTORE file in the root directory. The instructions on this site were pretty good, I would just add the bit about reapplying the update to 5.6.1 if you run into an error.
