You're very welcome! I use the paid version of Moon+ I actually bought it twice. One of the Kindle Fire and one from Google Play. I love this app and have it on all my devices.

I had a real productive day yesterday I got rid of 6 boxes full of junk mail and these weren't little boxes either.

I also learned while I am recovered packrat. My husband is the real packrat. It seems everything I tried to throwout. A watch that no longer works, an old toy wagon a broken yo-yo...etc he would go grab it and put it back in the mess! No wonder we have so much junk and I do mean junk. Stuff that is of no value and no use. It's his fault!

I will fess up that the paper boxes are mine. I always throw junk mail and old bills till it full then put it away to sort through later. I have about 15 years to sort through. . Now I go through the mail as I find it. He puts it all over the apartment. So the boxes have gotten alot smaller over the last few years.

Now I have a huge amount of big cookbooks to get rid of. I am thinking donating to a thriftshop as I don't know if my library would take them. I don't need them as I use the internet when I need a recipe.

We took alot of stuff to the landfill and the lady in the guard shack actually wanted my old crockpot so I gave it to her.

Free from Smashwords, Kobo and probably from Amazon.com:

Touch the Sun by Cynthia Wright (first published in 1978 by Ballantine), the second volume in the Beauvisage series.

Quote:
SWEPT UP IN A SOARING NEW SPIRIT OF INDEPENDENCE
Meagan Sayers, rebellious Southern beauty, was a runaway. The newly-orphaned daughter of Virginian aristocracy, connected to Madison, Jefferson and General Washington himself, arrived in bustling Philadelphia disguised as a lady's maid.

ABLAZE WITH A SEARING PASSION
Irresistibly drawn to dazzling young Lion Hampshire, pride demanded she keep her secret as he arranged a loveless marriage to advance his political career. As passion drew them together, bitter intrigue drove them apart. In an atmosphere of breathless excitement on the eve of the First Inauguration, they were forced to risk their happiness, their future, their lives before they could answer the fiery yearnings of their wild, impulsive hearts.
An unforgettable novel set in post-Revolutionary Philadelphia, cradle of liberty, city of love.

Wild on You (Justiss Alliance #1) by Tina Wainscott - $0.99
Kindle | Kobo | Nook | Google

Quote:
The Justiss Alliance is an elite team of heroes out to do right. In Wild on You, one untamable SEAL meets a woman who handles the wildest sort of animals—until she herself becomes the hunted.

When Rick Yarbrough, aka Risk, a discharged SEAL with a taste for danger, joins the Justiss Alliance, his first assignment seems like a baby-sitting gig: He must guard an out-of-control general’s daughter. Then he meets his charge.

Addie Wunder is no baby. She’s a dedicated animal-rights activist who isn’t above breaking the law if innocent creatures are threatened. But her work has made her a lot of powerful enemies. If she doesn’t stop, she may just turn herself into an endangered species.

Risk’s mission is to keep Addie out of trouble. But as they grow closer, Addie becomes so much more than a job. And the more he has to lose, the more Risk is willing to put his own life on the line—for her cause, her safety, and her sweet-hot embrace.

Free from Kobo:

Claiming the Duchess by Sherry Thomas, a prequel novella to her Fitzhugh series. I am really excited about this one - it's about one of the best secondary characters in Beguiling the Beauty!

Quote:
Clarissa, the widowed Duchess of Lexington, has two great loves: the reticent and reclusive Mr. James Kingston and her faithful correspondent Miss Julia Kirkland, whom Clarissa has never met.

Now both Mr. Kingston and Miss Kirkland are due to arrive at Clarissa’s house—and Clarissa is about to find out that nothing of either is as she has been led to believe…

My hubs drives me crazy with the packrat tendencies. Not only does he refuse to throw away his own stuff ("but honey, it might be useful someday" - NOT!!!) he takes other people's junk that they are throwing away.

I would think the library will take your old cookbooks - not to put into circulation, but to sell for cash. Every library I've ever belonged to will take just about any book as long as it's not falling apart - then they sell them in book sales to raise money.

For anyone using the calibre front end, is there a way to access a calibre server that is behind a firewall or on dynamic IP?

Has anyone read anything about converting calibre server for Synology (a NAS device).

I had a number of books I know I read back when I first purchased them in print that I had to guestimate dates for, but percentage wise it wasn't that many. I have read over 5000 books since 1989. (Not counting rereads). That total includes non-fiction. Not sure why I had started to keep track of the number of books I read every month, but I'm glad I kept it up over the years.

So now I have completed all of my wishlist projects (some of which I never even knew I wanted to do ). I have my Warehouse library with the name of the store(s) I purchased all of my books from with the untouched original versions of my books in case I ever need them. And my main Calibre library and the Vault library. My plan now is to always import new books to the Warehouse, clean-up the metadata as needed and then copy to either the main library or Vault. The only exception would be if it's a website freebie story (like Nalini Singh's slice-of-life newsletter stories or if an author posts an epilogue or deleted scenes on their wesbite of something) which I make an ePub from would go directly to the main library since they aren't from a store. I didn't add the various Silhouette/Harlequin on-line reads or the other Psy/Changeling short stories to the Warehouse either.

I know there are some books which I will probably clean-up in Edit Book when/if I reread them. But having done all of the Samhain titles, there are none I know have major issues.

My various library overhauls have taught me a lot. So even though they've been time consuming I am glad I've undertaken them all. But I'm ready to just be in maintenance mode and spend my time actually reading

Of course, I have to finish my taxes before I can start a new book, but I'm putting that off until tomorrow. (They're done, I just need to proof them. I'm not quite that bad of a procrastinator )

I also dusted and rearranged all of my book shelves yesterday. Even though I'm not reading much in print nowadays, I still have my keepers. I should probably cull my print TBR pile since it keeps falling over when the dog bumps it, but that's a project for another day.
Wow Way To Go!!! You inspire me to try to tackle my free non Kindle library in Calibre. Let's just say it's less of a mess then it was before. I discovered Calibre's automerge today which is great for Smashwords or Samhain books that come in mult formats. I then discovered the duplicate plugin does binary compare and was able to get rid of even more dupes. However finding out where most of the freebies came from is next to impossible now. That will teach me to pay more attention where I grab stuff from.

I just discovered that most books that were free from Division Books are 4MB-8MB each! After unpacking the epub it seems they include every cover from the previews on the back and cover images are huge. Like the one for Calico is 4MB!

So you might want to optimize them before adding them to your reader. I wish Calibre had a plugin for this but as far I know it doesn't and must be done manually.

I had a few like that from another publisher, too. So odd. And then on the other side of the spectrum are all the books which came with no cover.

I am so glad I went through and removed all the unwanted back matter and front matter from my books. It not only saved a ton of space, but it makes the number of pages more accurate. It was a giant mess to tackle, but it's one of those things that is now a matter of routine for me to remove when I add new books. But like a lot of stuff, it's something I had no clue could be done when I first got Calibre.

And yay for cleaning up your freebie library. I know that's a huge project. Just break it down into steps and make a goal to work on x number of books per week. That's the only way not to get overwhelmed.

Is there a plugin to compare metadata between libraries? I really need to investigate more of these plugins.

How can I have Dana Marton's book Deathscape in the Kindle app on my Touchpad, but nowhere else??? The product page on Amazon says I bought it last year (it was a freeie at the time), but it's not in my Kindle library when I go to "manage your kindle content" on my Amazon account. I am toally confused.

Since it's not in my Kindle cloud I can't ge it on my Kindle Touch to read, and that's very annoying.

There is it's part of the Find duplicates plugin. I love that plugin!

I use Moon+ which actually has the ability to download the cover from the internet so I don't see me tweaking any more books unless they need a TOC for Time Left To Read. Now if he add a way to edit metadata and collections I would be on cloud 9. I don't care that it isn't the prettiest interface but I would like those two features most.

Do a chat with Kindle support the MYK page is a nightmare after all the changes. They should be able to fix it.

Oh I have the same problem too with this book

Edit: Found it! It shows up searching for Marton, Dana only.

ETA: It's a nice plugin, but what I really want to do is compare the published dates between two of my libraries. Oh well, it'a a minor thing in the grand scheme of stuff.
