No, but I've heard good things about them from other non-romance readers and I think I have the 1st one free from the original incarnation of Mills & Boon's Everyone's Reading site with the freebie e-book giveaways.

I'll see if I can find which hard drive I put it on. It does sound like it could be my sort of thing.

While I'm a primarily no-romo reader by preference, I'm think I'm generally fine with romance if it comes with another strong genre element. Usually mysteries and sometimes historicals and comedy work best* for me, I find.

It's just that stories where the couple getting together being the primary dominant plot don't do anything for me, unless it's something like Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, because of all the political intrigue surrounding and such.

If you need extra space in your Dropbox account and they still let you get a few bonus gigs for convincing new people to signup, I don't suppose you'd care to post or PM your referrer link for the service?

I'm embarrassed to say I still don't have one yet, and it would be nice if it would benefit a fellow MR member when I finally register.

* I will never again try touching sci-fi romance because apparently I'm too close to the source not to start screaming AIRLOCKS/SPACESHIPS/HYPOTHETICAL INTERSPECIES TRADE & POLITICS/BASIC BIOLOGICAL & ANATOMICAL COMPATIBILITY DO NOT WORK THAT WAY/You Fail Science Forever!!!!! when some of the more egregious Did Not Do The Research And Didn't Even Bother With A Simple Google/Wikipedia Search That Would Have Taken 5 Minutes Out Of Your Life Either comes up.

Just because it's science fiction doesn't mean you can make everything up. Especially not when it comes to the "science" part.

I have been so busy searching for books to buy with this that I haven't done much else all week. I'm pretty exhausted.
I got a little reading in, I'm reading The Naked Marquis. (not a HQ Book) Really looking forward to the next one The Naked Earl.

Getting back to HQs I think I've about exhausted my list. I have like 50 books left on my list to choose from but nothing I must have this minute. What's going to be fun it going over to Fictionwise and editing the wish list over there.

I have a couple of friends in my reading circle like that (although I have managed to slide a "true" romance in here-and-there with little complaint). I get frustrated with romances where the whole storyline is about a misunderstanding that could have been cleared up with a simple question or two, but sometimes I like the simplicity of a romance-only story - especially when life has gotten complicated!

How kind of you! Just click the link at the bottom of my signature - if you have any questions, especially about setting up with Calibre, let me know.

The CVV error was the one I got on the first night - I know it was correct, but tried it a couple times, then just switched to the other card. I used my Mastercard the first night - it pooped out after about 20, so I finished up with Visa. I used Visa the second night, and went back to Mastercard last night. It worked fine for 55 books, and worked fine tonight (don't know how many I bought yet, but I am done with the Temptation. Only nickel books from now on). If one is giving you problems, use another, and then switch back to the first.

I'm with Blossom - time to do some reading! And that sweater I thought I could wear tomorrow remains at half done!

I'm a romance reader. I like that stories focuses on Two people. I like there is a Happily Ever After. I could do without all the love scenes peppered in the more modern romances of today. I prefer plot and characterization. However I like books that make me laugh and shake my head. I like conflict and misunderstandings in my stories otherwise I get bored. I can't stand a super nice hero either or a heroine without a backbone.

I told me myself to go read but here I am organizing my purchases. Now that we have Send to Kindle program for PCs I am taking advantage not having to email everything. Now I can simple upload to Amazon with a simple click. It's great!

Okay, registered and installed and hopefully everything went through okay. It seems fairly straightforward so far; thanks for offering to help if I need it.

If you don't get the referrer credit, please let me know and I can probably try again from one of the other user accounts on the Mac.

Use right click and shift to copy all the books. Then sit back as they load into Calibre. If you are really anal (like me), you can go into them and edit the metadata - for example, I want the tags to read Romance, but also suspense or Christmas or regency. I added romance by editing metadata in bulk (just type it in the tag space), and then I went back and changed the others.

I don't know why I started emailing instead of side-loading. But I just used shift to highlight a number of books (31 on the first night), and then used Calibre to email them to my kindle and my fire. It takes about 5 minutes a book (I use my gmail address as the sender), but then they are backed up on the Amazon servers under personal documents.
Just downloaded Adobe Digital Ed. and Calibre. Where do I find alf's tools?

I am feeling particularly inept tonight. How do I give Karma?

And Sydney's Mom thank you. Think I resent the message, but you get the idea. Now to Calibre the new purchases. Like the tag idea too. Haven't used Calibre before. Could mean another day gone.....

Slight problem. Calibre is not seeing Adobe Digital Ed. Did I miss something?

Got it. OK now. Sorry!

I am happy. First five bought, transformed and transferred to their new reading place. Ah! Tomorrow I think will be a new shopping day. Thanks to all of you.
