Not in that one Although the one that had flies living in it could have done with a spider or two... (I think I would sooner deal with spiders - well, small spiders, anyway - than some of the keyboards I see at work :shudders: )

Thanks! I'm sure they do get filthy.....I've cleaned a couple of mine on occasion and I'm a bit afraid to clean this on.....I've been using it some 5 years or so....through three different computers... eek!

i clean my keyboard with the vacuum. it has a brush with extra long bristles, and i put that on and run it across the keys, pressing down to make a gap for the dust / cat hair / whathaveyou can get out. it seems pretty effective. make sure your computer is off before trying this. there is also the "turn upside down and bang on the back of it" method, which can work for crumbs and the occasional flying ant (bleeding idiots, those things).

Well, yeah I do that every now and then both the upside down and vacuuming......just be careful about sucking up the keytops.

Like Zelda, I vacuum my keyboard at home fairly often.

The one at work is more of a problem. I wipe it with telephone sanitiser but the cleaners do not touch people's desks. And other lecturers tend to nip in and use our computers if we're out. The result is a whole heap of keyboard crud if I'm not very careful. And with all the flu going round I really don't want to catch anything from some bloke who can't be bothered to wash his hands.

Yeah, It used to be telephones, but I think "mice" are the number one carriers of flu now!

Actually, a recent study over here in Sweden showed that Computer keyboards are more germinfested than toilets in the workplace, the toilets get cleaned regularly, the keyboards arent.
