A huge batch of titles just showed up in my UK eReaderIQ for £3.99, which is not a great sale price, but not terrible either. HOWEVER, a few of these are omnibuses that may be great deals, depending on whether you need most or all of the titles. I am really slammed for time, and these notifications are pretty old, so I'm not able to list individual titles or anything, but here at least are some links:

Robert Ludlum's Bourne Collection (ebook): 8 Great Novels: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Robert-Ludl...dp/B005ZTBX3E/

Harlan Coben - The Myron Bolitar Collection (ebook): 9 Great Novels: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Harlan-Cobe...dp/B005ZTBW3K/

HARLAN COBEN – TEN GREAT NOVELS - at a quick glance these look to be different than the 9 Myron Bolitar novels in the previous collection: https://www.amazon.co.uk/HARLAN-COBE...dp/B009AE5ZW0/

JAMES LEE BURKE – THE ROBICHEAUX COLLECTION: https://www.amazon.co.uk/JAMES-LEE-B...dp/B009ZG6ZQS/

The Bernie Rhodenbarr Mysteries: Volume One Kindle Edition by Lawrence Block (the blurb says it's the first five titles in the series): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bernie-Rhod...dp/B005HVR8AM/

The Collected Mystery Stories Kindle Edition by Lawrence Block, 71 short stories: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Collected-M...dp/B004JHY8JE/

The Steve Mosby Collection Kindle Edition by Steve Mosby (five titles): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Steve-Mosby...dp/B00CXU7I4G/

The R. J. Ellory Collection Kindle Edition by R.J. Ellory, 8 titles: https://www.amazon.co.uk/R-J-Ellory-...dp/B00DVL63VU/

continued....

In addition, a few other items of note (to me, at least, hopefully also to at least a few others):

Six titles in the Dead Man series by Michael Pearce - this is one of my five top favorite series - wish he'd write more: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_pg...qid=1533227867

And the first title in this series, A Dead Man in Trieste, is just £2.99: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dead-Man-Tr...dp/B01INI2JOK/

Other authors with at least some titles at £3.99 at Kindle UK (running out of time, so no links): William Brodrick, Catriona McPherson, Sara Sheridan, Elizabeth Peters, Simon Brett, John Burdett, Barbara Nadel, Emily Brightwell...

Oh, to be in the UK! The Rebus and Bosch collections would be grabbed quickly. I follow those, though I possibly have many of them already.

And just a few more omnibuses at £3.99 - not sure how long this will go on, although it's now past midnight in the UK, so maybe at least another day?

@Kieran Seymour spotted that it's not just mysteries that have some £3.99 collections on sale right now at Kindle UK - there are some sci-fi/fantasy series collections too. And one of those, Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse series, is sort of a cross-over to mystery as well, as least in the opinion of SYKM, and has a collection of the first six titles in the series available. I'm sort of on-strike against paranormal mysteries, have been for a long time, but I did like Harris' Aurora Teagarden series, and at this price may give the series a try. It's certainly popular enough to wonder why, and this is a pretty cheap way to check it out...

link to post in sci-fi thread with info on this (and some other sci-fi collections): https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh....php?p=3733285

Oh, and also Harris' Harper Connelly series, also listed at SYKM, which @maddz spotted (4 books): https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh....php?p=3733355

OK, the Aurora Teagarden, Lily Bard and the Harper Connelly series are sort of prequels to the Midnight Texas series. They appear to be in the same universe as the Sookie Stackhouse series. It helps to read the earlier series to understand some of the dynamics of Midnight Texas. Aurora Teagarden and Lily Bard are straightforward crime with no overt supernatural elements. Harper Connelly is much more urban fantasy, as is Midnight Texas. Although romantic elements feature in all the stories, I would not describe them as romances at all.

Three titles that more typically go on sale for $1.99 are on sale for $1.20 at Kindle US. So if you didn't bite before, maybe $0.79 less will convince you

The Fourth Figure, Pieter Van In, #4, by Pieter Aspe: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B73OUH2

Mistletoe Mysteries: Tales of Yuletide Murder (collection of holiday-themed short stories by various authors), edited by Charlotte MacLeod: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N8W8C8L

So which should I start with if I'm willing to dip a toe into the paranormal stuff, if not quite ready to jump in whole-heartedly? I have read most of Harris' Aurora Teagarden ones.

The Lily Bard stories are ‘standard mysteries’ which are good. She appears in the Midnight books as a visiting character.

Probably the Harper Connelly series. However, they do deal with some pretty dark themes so be warned.
