I can remember once in primary school when me and three other students were called into an empty classroom and we were told by the principal that he had observed that all four of us were breathing through our mouths and we shouldn't do that because it looked stupid. No explanation on how we should breath, just that we looked stupid. When I told my speech therapist this a couple of years ago she was horrified.

I've never used those strips, I might see if I can get them. I've considered nasal spray but salt water usually doesn't work and the other ones make my nose lazy and after stopping with them my nose is blocked for several days before it starts doing its work again on its own.

^this,

but not salt. Use manuka honey instead. Complete clearing.
You can even go scuba diving thereafter, which would be a headache issue if the sinuses weren't completely! cleaned.

I too cannot use nasal sprays ... the rebound swelling after they wear off is worse than the congestion. The strips usually let enough air get through so that the nasal passages & sinuses can drain, and still let me breathe.

unlike the old decongestant sprays, the newer steroid based ones should NOT give you that rebound effect. Ask your pharmacist -- I think they're now OTC. But be clear, you want the steroidal ones, not the old style that caused the rebound.

I've tried the steroidal ones too - still get the rebound - I must have overly sensitive nasal linings ...

+1. I use them all the time in the spring here, when every type of ragweed and other thing blooms and causes all sorts of nasal distress. Best thing ever.

Speaking as an ex-WCPSS teacher/dept chair, that is *exactly* the motivation. The party line at all the district-to-dept-chair meetings I went to was that while we could easily win frivolous lawsuits, we needed to try to avoid having them brought because even though we might eventually recoup the legal fees, having to pay them initially would mean taking school supplies out of the hands of students. $1000 in two years, repaid, does nothing to help with these students needing construction paper in this moment, and Lawyers don't work on spec.

(I since moved on to CHCCS and they are way less afraid of legal action.)

Dear [name of well-known bank],

I just had to take the time to compose this missive of heartfelt thanks for your overwhelming concern for my finances. Thank you ever so much for the daily phone calls, text messages, emails, and your weekly Fed Ex delivered, over-sized, cardboard envelopes. I am also deeply grateful for all your letters in my mail box.

I never would have thought such a large corporation would be so excited to contact me about this incredible yearly savings of $2,188.00 on my home loan, if only I would refinance for another 30 years. Your continued excitement in trying to get me to contact you about this great offer is surely demonstrated in the way in which you continue to use all forms of communication to reach me.

<Just in case you may have missed it; the two preceding paragraphs were sarcastic.>

I know your excitement knows no bounds by the fact that no matter how many times I write, phone in, and state that you "take me off your list" and "I am not interested", my statement of "Do not contact me about this again" just does not dampen your enthusiasm to share with me.

So, in closing, I will sincerely say:

Do not contact me, take me off your list, and I am not interested in refinancing my home loan.

<that statement was NOT sarcasm>

[my name]

If the bank is "legit" you should be able to stop the phone calls by getting on the Do Not Call list. Even if you have a current relationship with them, if you tell them to stop calling they are supposed to respect that.

Of course, I get calls from crooks all the time. I think they're exempt from the Don Not Call list.

EDIT: Of course, the mail will keep coming. If it's any compensation, the Post Office needs the business.

I get 'refinance your mortgage' messages from one of my banks all the time... and I don't even have any mortgage. In fact, I haven't done ANY banking with them other than automatic deposits in almost 40 years! Doesn't seem to deter them, and if they want to waste time, effort, and expense sending me notices, it doesn't bother me at all. I do 99% of my banking on-line and paperless. This is the only bank I use that refuses to go paperless, and so sends me statements and notices through the mails.

I am using Manuka honey since last 2 years for my sinuses problem. My family doctor recommend it to me. Manuka honey does help in calming the sinuses effects.

O.K... I don't usually rant, but I'm getting tired of my guitar teacher!
He's a nice guy, and knows his instrument, but he's not teaching me what I want to learn! I've been playing for 55 years. I know my instrument too. There are certain things in music that I'm lacking, such as the entire foundation (no biggie... ) and that's why I signed up for lessons with this guy. But instead of scales and theory, he's giving me some slide stuff such as "Sutter's Mill," which is fun, and I'm happy to learn a new song, but today when I suggested that we at least continue with slide work in a different key and combine it with chords, he wanted to switch to 'tapping' and 'harmonics.' Again, fun to play, but fairly useless to a folk musician. I'm not pleased that he's avoiding the music theory that I wanted, but the least he could do would be continue with a concept, building upon the previous week's practice, and he's not even doing that! I have one more lesson to go in the block of lessons I've paid for, but then it will be time to fine a new teacher. If only I'd taken 'real' lessons when I was a kid, I wouldn't be going through all this now!
