Yeah. That's the thing about public domain classics: there are always a bunch of cheap Kindle versions and a bunch of Whispersynced audios, and it's hard to tell which are "hooked" to which because the links on the product pages don't show all the connections. Of the six Whispersync-ready audio versions of The Woman in White, three get the discount activated by the free Kindle version and three don't. Two of the latter three are activated by $0.99 Kindle versions; the other one is definitely activated by a $4.49 version, and possibly by cheaper ones as well.

I bought one ebook on Amazon so I could get the whispersync audible version (cheaper than using one credit). I bought the whispersync version from the Amazon page, then was afraid they would use a credit instead of the money I had there so cancelled the sale (they did use my money, so I panicked unnecessarily). Anyway, instead of just refunding my $3.99 they gave me a new credit I think it worked out better for me than for them!

I bought a WfV-discounted title two weeks ago, but got charged the full price. I called support, and they were not sure why it happened but they cancelled the sale, and issued me a coupon for the difference in case it happened again. I repurchased it, it went through at the correct price, so now I have a $15 credit in my account they said I could use on something else. It probably worked out for both us and them because instead of getting fed up and leaving, we're still here happily shopping their site....

All sorted they refunded the $9.95 for Aladdin note - they admitted that they had an issue with this title in April so if you purchased it check your account to make sure it wasn't charged.

They explained that I had used my Avis credit on x,y,z book not entirely convinced about that as I thought most of those had come out of the previous buy4books credit but I'm not going to quibble over it as they placed $5 extra credit on my account due to the Aladdin mix up.

Have you checked your previous purchases to see which ones you paid real money for and which ones you used credits for? That would tell you exactly how much credit you used and what your remaining balance should be.

Okay, I finally got around to calling Audible regarding my credits ($5.64, I found out) that disappeared 30 days early (after just 30 days, instead of 60 days as it was supposed to). Perhaps I have some information that will be helpful to one or more of you.

The customer service rep was in Costa Rica and was in a very foul mood because he knew about the minimum wage in Seattle (where Amazon's headquarter's is, not Audible's--thank you, tubemonkey) being increased to $15 per hour, while he only makes the equivalent of only $1.04 an hour and, furthermore, wasn't going to be getting any raise at all. (just kidding!)

Actually he was in Costa Rica and very nice. He said that he would put the $5.64 back into my account, which would be good for one month, but insisted that the promotion was to have lasted for only 30 days. I basically said, "whatever, as long as I get the credit I'm happy." I asked him, though, if anyone else had complained or brought it to his attention and he said, "no."

Well, before I called him, I had gone back to tubemonkey's promotion archive and found where he or she quoted from the fine print on the promotion and it said "60 days." The only way that the proof could be more positive would have been if there had been a screen shot. And, as much as I hate to go to the trouble, if Audible has a 60 day promotion again I'm either going to take a screen shot and/or make a pdf of the screen, just to be safe, or I'm going to make sure to use all of the credits within 30 days regardless of what the terms of the promotion may say about the promotion lasting for 60 days. This has just been too much of a hassle.

I always believed the promotion ended on May 31st. I even made an effort during the last week of May to spend everything so I wouldn't lose any money.

Edit: Found a slick deals thread that said the promotion was supposed to be good for 2 months from the time of issue. I must have combined my $10/4 books with the Avis deal.

The Buy 4, Get $10 ended 31 May.

The first $10 Avis Promo is still an active offer and is definitely good for 60 days. We were made aware of it on 27 Apr and by 28 Apr they had already given out all of the coupons they had. Doing the math means it will expire on 26 Jun. I didn't do a screenshot, but I did copy the terms and conditions in this post. Since I can't count on Audible to always have this info available during the life of an offer, I make a point to copy the T&C and post it for reference in case of disputes.
