You want the official number or the unofficial number?? Officially, I have 19 cats and 2 dogs. However, there are some unofficial cats that come in for the night and a good meal when it gets really cold out there. Otherwise, they just drop in for a meal now and then.

I can't officially claim those cats as my own and keep them indoors, or the morons who make up the council of the City of HSB will probably drag me out of my house and burn me at the stake.

They have made it clear that they actually monitor what I post online, so most of the time I just say that I have 500 cats, 2 dogs, and a herd of pygmy elephants, oh ... and one llama.

When they "inspect" my house twice a year, I just tell them that about 490 of the cats, the elephants and the llama are very shy and tend to hide from strangers.

Ha ha ha! Good for you! That's crazy they monitor your posts though.

I think I'll stick with one cat though

As long as you take care of them though. We have one lady who has like 50 down the road, and then run around and get hit by cars a lot. They're house is pretty bad, they condemned it last year, reopened it, and a few months later it was stuff again. And she asks for cat food donations, when she lives literally down the road from a no-kill shelter.

And lobby your local politician if at all possible over issues that matter to you (not that I've ever got anywhere with mine, but she did suprise me recently by showing some spine)

My impression is that Ricky does a pretty good job of making life miserable right back at the authorities. They seem to have forgotten that the cardianl rule of democracy is the right to petition the government about grievances. That and they're messing with a very well paid LA lawyer, who is well paid because she's vry good.

The horrible thing is that the majority of people in HSB (and all of the so-called "City Council") .... all 1200 of them ... are very (very) old, 80-90 years on average, retired, and have more money than is proper for anyone to have.

That means they are generally a bunch of old-fogie, senile, "get off my grass you rotten kids" types. They mostly give me the willies and probably will even when I'm that age. If my mind ever gets that closed, I expect one of you to come out here and shoot me.
