My Kobo Utilities plugin has a function to populate a column from the collections. It is intended as a one-off to fetch the current collections after a disaster or mistake of some sort. The driver also has an option in the collection management area to name collections on the device that the driver will not touch. That allows you to have a few collections that are maintained on the device.

I had the KoboTouchExtended 3.2.13 driver installed when I updated to calibre 4.23.0. After the install, the KoboTouchExtended driver was not installed. I came here to check and found @Patdesmilles message #2314 so I restarted calibre in debug mode from the Preferences dropdown. I then added the KoboTouchExtended 3.2.13 driver and it installed without issue. Exited calibre, restarted in normal mode and the KoboTouchExtended driver was still there.

I have no idea why, but this seems to happen occasionally. There are quite a few reports of this after a calibre update. Sometimes, it works when calibre is restarted, other times, it needs the driver to be reinstalled.

In my case, the restart into debug mode did not have the driver show up but after the re-install, it's survived 5 restarts.

A new version has been posted which resolves an issue with SVG images. Kobo spans are no longer added to <svg> or children, so they shouldn't break anymore. This also adds the book which failed conversion to the error message when sending books to your Kobo device. Calibre should start to offer the update in the next couple hours.

I've found a bug that effects footnotes. When I tap a footnote link, I get taken to the cover. But if I use KePubify to convert the ePub, the footnotes work properly.
Update: It seems if I sent the KePub with Calibre, the footnotes fail and if I pub the KePub on with Windows Explorer, no problem. Last edited by JSWolf; 09-04-2020 at 07:01 AM. |

And you will have to explain your "update". It doesn't make sense with respect to this plugin. |

@JSWolf: I have tested the book sending it to the one of my devices with firmware 4.23.155538, calibre 4.99.13 and the released version of the driver. I've tried at least 20 footnotes scattered through the book. Only one didn't show the the footnote in a popup. It navigated to the footnote. The text for it was fairly long, so I assume it was more than the number of characters that Kobo treats as not a footnote.
As far as I can see, it is working as expected. |

Honestly, it would be a waste of time. I know how the code works, both in the plugin, and the calibre base code it uses. But, I do have a portable version of 4.15 installed. And guess what, the results are the same. I'll install the portable version of 4.23 later, but, I don't expect to see any differences with it.
If you think the book that the driver generates is wrong, then send me the copy from the device. But, after that, remove it and send it again. |

I'm not getting pop-up footnotes in kepubs sent to my Forma using this plugin. Is here a way to troubleshoot this by editing the original epub?

Hello, I have a question regarding the css file for hyphenation.
It has already been mentioned that the file is incorrect : the options should be "-webkit-hyphenate-limit-after" instead of "-webkit-hyphenate-after". Anyway, after installing the plugin I went to Calibre's plugin directory, opened the plugin zip file, modifed the hyphenation css myself and restarted calibre. However, when converting books, calibre STILL doesn't use my modified css. Is the unzipped extension cached somewhere ? What am I doing wrong ? EDIT : ok, it looks like it take into account changes to the values, but it overwrites the the option name back to "-webkit-hyphenate-after Last edited by Simboubou; 09-12-2020 at 09:06 AM. |

I must have missed this somewhere, maybe this is the reason hyphenation has been so wonky basically forever. Can you manually install this attached version and see if it's any better? I'm leaving the old CSS properties in place for now but compliant renderers are supposed to ignore unknown properties.
