One reason to use the physical volume control is because asking Alexa to do anything requires a several second pause in whatever she was doing at the time. If Alexa is playing music, then telling her to turn up the volume will cause a several second delay in the song, she will mutter some stuff then resume the song, which in my opinion kind of ruins the whole moment.

Y'all can touch her all you like. The entire reason I got one is to make stuff happen with my voice. Touching is cheating/failure (for me).

I got a second Echo during the Prime sale. I kept having to raise the volume to max for audiobooks using the Dot, so when I went to bed and had her play ocean waves, I'd get blasted. Until I have my sewing room back, I have to sew in the bedroom, so this is great.

I will miss my echos (all 4) when I housesit for my sister. Alas, she doesn't have wifi at this time.

I'll just have to pull the old mini-blue tooth speakers out again for audiobooks.

Hey, we just discovered some additional value from our prime day purchases: the Fire tablet purchase entitled my wife to a free month of Audible. So that's two free audiobooks.
Maybe this belongs in the audiobooks forum?

Do you have a smartphone you can use as a WiFi hotspot?

I suspect she was eligible for the free month outside of the Fire Tab purchase. I just finished a free month that wasn't tied to any promos or purchases.

But then, anything goes with Audible

I don't know. The offer required her to sign in from the device, and I'd been trying to get her other offers with no luck for a while now. Remarkable coincidence if she just became eligible otherwise.

Hi, it's me again, with another question!

Is there any way to tell if you have ordered, or if you've reordered, anything via Alexa before?

There is a promo offering $10 the first time you reorder an item by voice, but I can't recall if I've ever done it before.
I'm not going to order something I don't need in any case, but I would like to know if I'm eligible for the $10.

If your going to order it anyway, try using Alexa and see if 1. it works (I've tried ordering with her a couple of time and she said she couldn't order it 'cause it wasn't prime) and 2. if you get the discount.

Sorry, I have no idea. I only use Alexa Voice Shopping for promos. Looking at known Alexa orders reveals nothing as to how the item was ordered.
