I was thinking about the shut down option myself, but I couldn't ask for something just to avoid one extra click. Thank god I'm not the only lazy person here. ![]() So I check them, found some icons for them (attached) and also some glitches ... If I turn the light off, the menu selects the light entry. If I don't select another entry and just open and close the menu a few times, it opens and closes the light. If I select something else on the menu, the opening - closing doesn't affect the light. As for the power off, I use a custom picture (with KSM). When I press the button, for a while the shut down picture is displayed as it should but then at the end, the koreader menu appears at the top and stays there. I have 3.8.0 firmware (no real need for update there), KSM_07 and koreader-nightly-20150808. |

Another thing that just came to me (sometimes I'm real slow), we should probably not even use an extra light icon. Just add this toggle functionality to the original icon? Quote:
I do sense that these adjustments are more individual workflow hacks than an issue of larger concern. So there's probably no point in trying to integrate them into the official koreader release. I mean, I've always felt that the light toggle is buried a bit too deep in the menu structure. But that doesn't really matter since most devices have a hardware light button. It only started annoying me on the H2O, which doesn't. So, thanks for the icons, if I make an update, I will use one or both. Last edited by xor_; 08-10-2015 at 06:04 AM. |

Am I the only one currently having problems with Evernote? Cant seem to be able to log in on the previous two nightlies at least... The authentication plugin always shows a "temporary failure in name resolution"...
Also, whats the state of the note-taking feature? On a more positive note: koreader seems to have improved considerably with the latest builds although that may be because I have finally gotten behind the quirks in KSM... |

Now I downloaded zip file and created text file with same name and copied instructions from your forum post, but for many (including myself) it would be much easier if everything is already in zip file. |

I've made an update to my little light-toggle and shutdown mod. It should fix the glitches, and it uses embryo's icons.
- after shutdown the top menu shouldn't show anymore in addition to the screensaver image - after using the light toggle, the next menu access doesn't automatically toggle the light anymore. Instead the last menu tab index is set to the settings tab - by request I added a readme file with instructions from my previous post. ![]() I've decided against attaching the toggle functionality to the pre-existing settings tab, since that addresses several other functions besides the frontlight. And we don't want a toggle whenever we access that menu item. Shutdown currently presupposes KSM's script. But that would be easy to replace. Based on the latest koreader nightly as of right now: 20150808 Rationale for doing this is here Cheers. Edit: See updated version here Last edited by xor_; 08-13-2015 at 10:38 PM. |

A neat way to add a feature to an existing script based program. As long as it is simple additions, and what it calls doesn't get changed, merging over an updated readermenu.lua, should keep it working after a Koreader update. It might even survive an update, as you normally just merge the new koreader folder over the existing one.
Not sure if everyone at GitHub will be accepting about this approach, but if it does address the power consumption issue that has been so hard to verify and pin down, they should welcome it as at least a temporary measure. Luck; Ken |

New problems here and I just want to say that I really appreciate your help along the way since I've purchased the Glo HD ![]() 1. I tried to log in to evernote but the vertual keyboard doesn't have numberpad. I can't enter my numbers ![]() ![]() 2. Is there a way to eliminate all those dates? Numbers are at "Sym">"up arrow"/shift. The same for the two slashes (/&\), the shift key lets you find the other. It's actually a great little onscreen keyboard, once you get used to it.
I took a quick look at an evernote I made, in koreader, on my Aura HD, using the Evernote program on my PC and couldn't find an option to not show those dates. I expect they consider that essential identification information for the highlight. There is a new version of KSM (KSM8) coming sometime soon. KSM7 w/update4 is the current version. Oh, that's okay. Actually it's not a big deal. I can always do it manually over Microsoft Word. Really?! I'm excited to update to KSM8! Thank you again for helping me ![]() ![]() |

Much better for me now. Since I have a Glo, I don't use the light toggle, so I comment out the light's lines in the script. Perhaps it would be convenient for other users of Glo, AuraHD and even Touch (no light there) who don't fiddle with the script, to add one version with just the power off function. It is a little crowded in the smaller displays, and since these devices have a button ... |
