Alex thinks Sophie’s a curse, but because she pulls in the most money he doesn’t wanna get rid of her just, yet. Sophie and her best friend Liza have no idea how to get out from under Alex’s thumb, and each time something strange takes place in the house Alex blames one of the girls and holds them responsible and they have to be disciplined. Sophie and Liza are always dusted up and never thinking clearly, they just endure the misery; Liza more than Sophie; Sophie is like Alex, kind of slow-witted, so she don’t care as much; but Liza’s at the point of not being able to take it anymore; and the tipping point is when all the girls chip in and buy and give Long Legs Paulina a white opal ring for Christmas because they feel bad for her because Alex broke her jaw, but when they return one day to discover she’s no longer there and days later see the white opal ring on Alex’s girlfriend’s finger, they are infuriated and pushed to their limits and take the biggest gamble of their sad existences: they plan on killing him, knowing that if they fail, somebody’s going to be held accountable. Literary fiction; young adult; horror and city life.

Being a real dog lover, my first novel just had to be about dogs. It is a children's novel but plenty of my friends have enjoyed reading it and seeing the pictures. It is based on a pet hate of mine namely puppy farms, mills, factories, whatever you like to call them.

It is a story about Millie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who has been dognapped and taken to a puppy mill. When her friends down at the dog park find out about it they enlist the help of Big Dan, the top dog cop with the Police K9 Unit. Big Dan comes up with a plan and they all embark on a dangerous mission to bring Millie back home and free all the other dogs in the puppy mill.

Caviedogz I've bought and read your book and it's delightful. While telling a story that needs to be told ( the evil of puppy mills) there is a lot of fun, humour and adventure. I've fallen in love with all the doggy characters who leap out of the pages at you. Kids would love it and as I'm a big kid I love it. Well done.

When two runaway dogs waylay Gordon on the way to what he hopes will be an uneventful afternoon at a backyard barbeque, more than his afternoon is interrupted. As dogs will do, these have uncovered a bone. Trouble is, it turns out to be human. When it leads to the discovery of more human remains, Gordon needs to find out why they’re on the property, when they got there, and who they belonged to. After all, somebody needs to care.

Over the mayor’s objections, Gordon pursues the investigation of the bones along with an unusual outbreak of petty crimes, accidents, and a dispatcher who seems to be losing it. Before long, he’s got more puzzle pieces than he knows what to do with—and no puzzle to fit them into. When people he loves are endangered, no mayoral directive will stop Gordon from saving them.

This second book in the Mapleton Mystery series reunites Gordon with Detective Tyler Colfax, once again faced with cooperating to solve another case.
