Now there's a novel idea.... Or maybe I'll just buy a bottle of Xanté on my way home from work. It's pear cognac and very VERY yummilicious!

No congac at home. And they aren't pears you can eat out of hand either. I think I'll make some apple/pear sauce... Plenty of apples as well.

Still hot, hot, hot. The last week was in the 100's and this week will be in the upper 90's. I truly hate it.

Here we are enjoying (ok, I am enjoying, most people freak out) a really early fall. 14 degrees C tonight, raining all day, the perfect temperature to justify laziness and cocooning!

So not fair! It is 91F (33C) and it's 9:30PM! Of course, it's much cooler than it was earlier today (102F--39C)

Can we trade? I would really like to curl up with a blanket, a cup of something, and my reader.

It is easyer, of course, to protect oneself from the cold than from the heat. Sunny fall days are the best. Looking forward to a burn of the pellet stove.

It's been raining all day. We drove out to Avebury to see the stones, and got wet. We went to the West Kennet long barrow and got wet. Silbury hill was also wet. So we went back to Wales and got wet there too.
