If I ever discovered time travel, I wouldn't use it to change history. Instead, I'd simply be an observer at the most important events in history. I would also find out the answers to some of the world's greatest mysteries, such as:

so you're saying the rich tapestry it all is would be aversely* affected just by asking the question ??? that's rather tetchy of the little buggers, don't you think ? you know, a mildly suspicious person might wonder whether it's because the answer to that question is that THERE IS NO PURPOSE to them, but they don't want anyone to find out !

well, you made me doubt, so i checked. adverse and averse are both words and according to dictionary.com, "The adjectives adverse and averse are related both etymologically and semantically, each having “opposition” as a central sense." probably i should have used adversely in that context since aversely is apparently used mainly for people, but i'm not going to change it now because then my parenthetical note would make no sense.
