My 3G arrived this morning via the regular postie. Very impressed with the device. Background colour is very similar to the Sony 505, but the text is definitely much darker. Nice fast page turns on books bought from the Kindle store.

Just need to load on some technical PDFs now to see how well it handles those...

Has your postman been yet??

Some have come with the regular post and some have come in the Royal mail vans. My postie didnt come until 12 this morning, and brought my kindle with him.

I'm waiting on MCover to do a new one for Kindle 3, as I love my K2i version. I have got used to reading the Kindle more or less 'naked' and find the book style cover a bit awkward now. The slimmer profile of either of the Kindles, with the page turn buttons where they were, made the option much more comfy than the Sony PRS505, which I had in book style case. My right thumb joint is suffering from a lot of pain these days (some sort of RSI I think) so I find the weight on that joint holding a book style cover can be tiring with a heavier device, whereas 'naked' or skinned, I use more of my hand behind the device. The new Kindle 3 page turn buttons are much easier on the joint as well.

LOL the power lead smells like the heads on new dolls, love it

I am loving this thing, it is amazingly good, so pleased I got it.
The lighted cover is fabulous too, now I can finally see it working. It really lights the screen very well, much more even and well lit than any pics have shown. Very pleased I went the extra with that one, might get a second in another colour instead of an oberon.

Everyone waiting on theirs, I promise you will forget all this hassle once you get it in your hands. I have been fuming and angry at Amz over the past week for how this has all been handled, but now its here, I am in heaven and its all forgotten.

Still no word on mine - but to be honest not expecting it before mid September now (ordered 10 August) but have just caved in and bought a cover.

Anyone else think Amazon are playing with us and hoping every time we log on to check our order status we buy something...........or am I the only patsy doing that

LOL I was wondering what that smell was when I opened the box. I don't like those smells and they tend to make me feel ill so thankfully it wasn't the actual Kindle!

Yes, Amazon and I are best friends again

I love it so much. It looks so nice, and the books are displayed so well on it. It is very resposive and fast and I like the layout. Still playing around with it at the moment, but everything is straight forward so far and easy to use. I also love the screen savers!

The web browser is much better than I thought it would be. The keypad is easy to use. I'm a very happy Bunny today Never been more pleased to see the postman in my life. I saved him a trip up the stairs aswell, he was quite pleased with that

I keep browsing to see what is available. Then I go off an browse Gutenberg or somewhere else. Then I look up how to do DRM stripping...

My K3 was allegedly dispatched on 30th but estimated delivery date is 6th September. Gives a whole new meaning to "snail mail".
