Do you have a pet?

I've got 3 guinea pigs (who are making it very clear right now that I should be getting their dinner ready instead of writing this post).

I'm also a dog-person, but our apartment building doesn't allow them.

They're very pretty guineas too. We had two guinea pigs when we lived in an apartment for the same reason, they didn't allow dogs. That was the only time in my life I can remember not having dogs.

Phoebe, Porky and Penny are lovely. Do have a hutch in the garden or do they live in the apartment? I know some guinea pigs who are indoor pets.

My daughter had just the two for many years. I don't know what sex they were. They were named Travis and Beau. They never had any babies and never fought, so ?????

Four people in my circle of friends had two guinea pigs - and all of them had many more shortly thereafter

just never EVER feed them fish! when I was a wee little thing my Dad was surveying Alaska. we had to live rough quite often as re-supply trips were 4 to 6 weeks apart. he thought we were in heaven when he found some seagull nests as we hadn't had eggs in a very long time. uggggggghhhhhh! if there were a spewing smiley it would go here!

My guinea pigs have always been indoor pets, although I do have a run that I can set up for them outside when the weather is nice. (At my parent's house as I currently have no garden.) They live in a "cubes and & coroplast" cage, which are cages that you can easily make yourself. I usually redesign ours once a year.

I've luckily never had that problem. All my guinea pig males have always been uh...very blessed in that department, so there was never a question about what gender they were. There's actually no chance of my current herd being able to multiple, as Porky is neutered (he came from a rescue that neuters all boars). He doesn't seem to notice though.

I hope that the same applies for us! One of the first changes that is going to happen when we move (next year) is add a dog to our family.
