If they made it $399, it would only be $50 more than the Oasis with cellular.

I too am very glad they are trying something a little different, unlike amazon who seem stuck in a complacent rut. I would love to find an excuse to buy it.

$479 with 3-month free subscription to their audiobooks (with conditions, of course), along with free shipping. Light wedge included at no extra charge.

Cover to be available free to 'early adopters' whenever it becomes available.

The Swiss site (revoked) notes the Kobo Elipsa as 550,20 CHF, which is about €499,- or $609
Hefty pricing.

It doesn't appear to have warm light either (but I guess this is would be the norm for a Note Taker / eReader). At least it looks like it will use ePubs (which I thought was a big drawback with the Sonys).
I wish they had gone with the Carta 1250 screen as it has a faster refresh.

I cannot see the Format being discontinued as the Elipsa is not a Forma replacement.

So it looks like the $449 estimate will be a lot closer than my (probably) high estimate of $525 to $550. For some reason I thought Formas sold for about $340 — maybe that was the 32 GB version?

Kobo.com and Walmart do not have the 32GB Forma. In the UK, the Forma 8GB is £239.99 and 32GB is £289.99.

If I did get a Forma, I'd go with the 8GB as I have 4GB now and have not needed more.

Agreed on that. My PocketBook Touch HD3 has 16 GB of memory (a little over 14 GB available) and I'm currently using about 700 MB of that. I don't anticipate ever filling it up.

There is one very nice feature that stands out on the Elipsa. That is the lack of buttons.

If $609.99 really is the US price, that would be a bit too expensive for my budget.
