I tried it last night. It was very easy on the eyes. It feels like an old amber CRT.

I'm very tempted to get the cellular Oasis 3 - I tried the Oasis 2 earlier this year, and despite liking it, I couldn't justify it over my Voyage. But now with the warm light, I’m quite tempted, it is a feature I use across my iOS devices very much in the evening and even on the iOS Kindle apps.

Very tempted...

Coming from a WiFi Oasis 1, cellular was an additional part of my upgrade rationale buying an LTE Oasis 3.

First cellular I’ve had since the original Paperwhite. It’s at work (no WiFi, or rather, flakey public WiFi I’ve no desire to use) where I often put down the Kindle and go elsewhere for lengths of time. It’s been a frequent annoyance for years that when I’ve had the opportunity to read on my phone, sans Kindle, I’ve forgotten my progress.

Having LTE on all day unsurprisingly eats through battery, although I suspect my use case is extreme. I work on the railway and I typically spend 8 hours + on a moving train, meaning signal differs wildly effectively all my work day, hammering the battery. Not a big deal, expected this, and having my position synced between Kindle and phone 99% of the time has been great this past week.

Always on access to Wikipedia is great too for non-dictionary definitions.

Charged it twice in 6 days since it arrived in the post.

I have this cover (fabric version**) from my Oasis 2 (which I traded in for the Oasis 3). In addition to the magnetic back (which doesn't work on the O3), it also has an adhesive strip that you can use to affix the cover to the Kindle. While the adhesive works fine, I can confirm that the front cover does not enable the auto sleep/wake feature.

**I don't think the non-fabric version of this cover have the adhesive strip, and therefore wouldn't work with the O3.

IIRC, they went from either 10 or 12 LEDs (Oasis 2) to 25 LEDs (Oasis 3).

However, I didn't noticed any quality change in lights or light bright.

My new Oasis is supposed to be delivered today by 8 PM. My order information has been saying that for several days since I placed the order. However the track package page says it hasn't been shipped yet and neither UPS or USPS have no record of anything being delivered soon to my address?
I hope there's not a problem with it.

I had the same issue. Showed shipped on Amazon's end but the tracking number on UPS's website showed only an origination scan. As though they never received the package. I had to do a chat with Amazon customer service. The CS agent said UPS lost the package. I don't think that was the case because UPS never showed receiving it. None the less the CS rep initiated another one to be sent out. This was in Saturday and I received it yesterday. Give Amazon CS a try.

I pre-ordered mine on July 13th, and a few days ago my Orders page updated to say "Now arriving September 12"...

Just called Amazon to ask about the discrepancy in delay. She tried to move mine up, but it won't let her. She did say that they usually give a pessimistic estimate when it's delayed so they don't have to send another email, and that it may arrive before September 12th. On her end, it shows them being in stock "before then" (I couldn't get her to state a date out loud even though I mentioned the website says Aug 27th).

I got burned by whatever stock/supply issue they're having. I pre-ordered an Oasis 3 Cellular + Wifi, 32GB, no special offers, on the first day preorders were available. Up until a few hours ago, my "guaranteed" delivery date was today (not the 24th) but it hadn't shipped. I ended up getting an email from Amazon, and my delivery date has slipped to August 21st .

I chatted with support, and they offered me $15. I called and spoke to a rep and then their supervisor. He said he spoke to the Kindle team and they just didn't have supply and couldn't tell me much more. I'm somewhat curious as to what would happen if I called back again and escalated, if I'd get the same response or not. In any case, he couldn't do anything about the delivery date and credited me another $40.

So not only did I not get release day delivery or even my target date, but I have to wait almost another month for my Kindle. This wouldn't be that bad except that I traded my previous Kindle in towards the Oasis as part of their trade-in promotion, leaving me Kindle-less for around 6 weeks (had to send it in by July 11). All in all I'm incredibly frustrated by the lack of preparation and communication on Amazon's part, and that I won't have a Kindle for a month and a half to two months.
