I can confirm that Boyue Lifebook Plus, just like the 4.0.4-based Onyx devices, cannot work with BT 4.0 (which is expected).

I vaguely remember seeing in one of the MobileRead forums that the Lifebook Plus will be updated soon? If so, any chance BOYUE will update to Android 4.4? - this would solve the Bluetooth problem and there are so many other apps that would start working...(Kindle lite being one)...
Isn't there another new BOYUE coming out with a more modern Android (than 4.2.2)? If so, hopefully they share the same chipset....

Isn't there another new BOYUE coming out with a more modern Android (than 4.2.2)? If so, hopefully they share the same chipset....

Unfortunately the new one is coming with the same Android version

I have seen + isntalled 2 releases (Last one earlier this year).
However, I just checked, at least 2 articles claim that the "Boyue T103 (aka Likebook Note)" will be based on Android 4.4.2....I am still not giving up that BOYUE will update the Lifebook Plus...

No, I don't think so.

As far as I know it may not even be possible to upgrade the Android version of Boyue Likebook Plus, nor are any significant updates coming. I certainly don't expect any.

Also as far as I have experienced the stock Boyue Likebook Plus, with latest firmware, works perfectly fine and is not really in urgent need of any further updates to fix any bugs.

If you want to you are free to install other reader or launcher software to try to improve the stock experience. I have updated my Boyue Likebook Plus with an alternative launcher and ereader software as described in this thread.

Works very fine for my needs.

Thanks - and yes, I am also pretty happy with my Lifebook Plus (actually the Icarus flavor). A few apps that cannot be installed or used (Bluetooth headphones), but other than that it is a good product.

Abandoned? Its working as I expected it to when I bought it. There was one annoying bug, the reader rebooting randomly. The last firmware update (v1.0.2-2018010215) corrected this bug so I'm happy with how the reader functions for me. Beyond any bug fixes (that I'm blissfully unaware of) I don't expect Boyue to continue further development.

If the Boyue Likebook Plus had been a part of an elaborate ebook sale and distribution system with activations, DRM and advertisements, then I would assume that there would have to be a steady stream of updates and urgent bug fixes. Fortunately that is not the case...

This is one of the more important reasons for why I got the Boyue Likebook Plus.

I've been having this problem lately where my WiFi keeps shutting on and off, basically never getting a connection. The toggle just goes on, then goes off, then goes on. I'm trying to figure if anything different has happened lately, but can't imagine anything that would have caused this issue.

Could be others using wifi nearby. Try closer to your router. If that helps, change the direction of the antenna on the router, move the router or change channels or add a repeater.

There are apps for the phone that can detect the wifi strength and if there are many on the same wifi channel. May help to figure out what the problem is. Search for "WiFi Analyzer" on the app store.

I fiddled with a few settings, but really since I only have a few small reading apps synced to the cloud, it made a whole lot more sense just to reset the thing. Working great again.
