Tor keeps the free ebooks coming: today only, Brandon Sanderson's The Way Of Kings is free. Although, the Tor site seems to be very sluggish right now. This freebie was extensively advertised on Reddit and Brandon Sanderson sites, so maybe the Tor servers are getting hit by eager Sanderson fans.

The azw3 copy I download from Amazon back in September 2014 was only 7.7MB. The updated copy I download from Amazon today is 12.1MB.

The latest freebie, Brandon Sanderson's The Way Of Kings, was supposed to be for one day only. But, they seem to have extended the window to 11:59 pm ET today (May 5th). Probably because of all the trouble people had downloading the book yesterday.

The map and graphics images are jpegs so quite highly compressed. Within the epub, they gain fractionally greater compression. Instead of 20,277,792 bytes, they only require 18,238,534 bytes (around 10%).

I did remove the embedded font since I don't need an embedded copy of CharisSIL (1.4MB compressed, 5.6MB uncompressed).
