A failure of the "multiple points of distrubution" model, when the "prettier" version is not maintained and becomes quite literally dangerous on a large scale. It should have a bold red warning at the top of its first post, pointing to the MAINTAINED version of the jailbreak instructions.

Too bad that nobody tried to prevent this.

Hi, I have a G090G1 and I downgraded to 5.6.1.1. It gave me a boot loop and a repair message, so I got out of it by doing a DO_FACTORY_RESET and am now successfully running 5.6.1.1. I put the main-htmlviewer.tar.gz in my Kindle root directory and typed ;installHtml but nothing happens. Any ideas?

The DO_FACTORY_RESTORE converted your firmware from factory-5.6.1.1 to customer-5.6.1.1

Simply run the downgrade package again -
That will do a customer-5.6.1.1 to factory-5.6.1.1 update now.

Please report back here on the results.

I was having the same problem and solved by this way.
Im new to jailbreaking so I have a question.
I installed kual and mrinstaller etc. then logged my amazon account.After 5 min kual was missing in books section.I looked inside the kindle and kual was still here.Did I miss any step or did something wrong?

Make sure you are on downloaded not all.

So I raged and did a factory reset to remove my "useless" jailbreak.

Did you search for KUAL inside the Kindle using that search bar at the top?
Maybe your library was sort by books instead of content.
I think that after a reset you can recover the jailbreak reapplying the hotfix.

You MUST re-apply the 'hotfix' after a 'reset'.
A 'reset' wipes out everything that the 'hotfix' does/did.

I got special offers.When I did DO_FACTORY_RESTORE after error code 2 (after flashing factory image.) Factory restore finished then i flashed the factory image again.
Is that the thing what you saying?

If you did what knc1 said in post 216, after you apply the hotfix you should be good.
