If you want to control your device using a bluetooth remote, it mustn't be that expensive. I am using those clickers and it works for me perfeclty in almost every app i tried. You can use either buttons or the joystick on this remote to flip pages. Just don't forget to switch off Bluetooth on your Books after you have finished your reading. Enabled Bluetooth prevents device from going in auto suspend mode or auto power off.

Confirmed. BT clicker does does work with Google Play Books. The Play Books app is not for me though, unless you can turn off page turn animations? Distracting.

As far as battery w/ BT? I can't seem to kill the battery before I happen to be near a plug to charge it "just bc". The Kepler seems to do a great job killing most processes when it's shut off.

Booxtor, I like your remote. The only shortcoming I can think of for the unit I use is the lack of tactile indicators. I don't know if my thumb moved to another position.

What is the range of BT on the Kepler? How far can the BT device be?

For the battery conscious, I made a Tasker profile to turn on BT when I open my reading app(s). It'll also disable BT when you exit the program(s). Works well so far.

Being that I am not battery conscious, I use this Profile to ensure BT is on without me having to think about it. The Kepler kills BT when in Sleep Mode and doesn't always turn BT back on.

I know BT has average ranges depending on the chip inside (1-4 last I checked). I do not know which chip is in our device. I have not tried beyond an arms length away bc I use it to turn pages while I read.

Thank you for confirming even the cheapest BT controller works! I could hardly call a $10 BT remote I linked "expensive" tho.

Thank you for checking! And yes, you can turn off animations, at least I did on my Boyue T63.

Now, if only I could find a decent deal on the Kepler Pro. Banggood folks informed me they have no plans on restocking it. And ordering from Europe looks like an overkill.

Thank you, I've considered this and another (german I think) site and while the "base" price is similar to BangGood's, it doesn't seem to include the case or the charger and I'd imagine they wouldn't ship it to Canada for free. Also, they would probably want to use courier service resulting in "brokerage fee" due to be paid here, even if there're no duties/taxes for import (happened to me a few times, for some reason courier companies here feel comfortable charing you for the work they didn't do).

When I ordered the Boyue T63 from banggood I paid $1.07 extra for some sort of expedited shipping and had the device in hand within a week. They've also been super-nice to me previously, so despite their claim to the contrary, I'm hoping they'd restock Kepler Pro.

Maybe, if a few people ask and keep asking (nicely, of course! ), Banggood will restock. My experience with their customer service has also been very good.

yeah couriers screw Canadian customers. I wont use them. So banggood mail don't charge extra? Do they use Canada Post?

Surprised banggood not restocking the Kepler. I hope that is not a pattern. It costs an arm and a leg from Europe with a courier.

I've ordered from them a few times over the last 2-3 years and as far as I recall shipping was always free (while taking a while) from them. Last time tho, I've decided to "upgrade" for dollar and change and was pleasantly surprised by the speedy delivery.

I've already asked, so I'd totally encourage others to enquire about Kepler Pro ordering from banggood (well, if you intend to order from them of course).

I've put the Kepler Pro on my Banggood "wish list". Maybe that will help!

Edit: Are there any rumors about the KP getting an upgrade to KitKat? I thought I saw that somewhere (maybe this forum!).

There was a single, brief mention of it in a German-language report, that I posted on here at about the time the Kepler Pro was first announced (at some big tech show or other). There were likewise reports at about the same time that (i) the K-Pro would be waterproof & (ii) that a Kepler (non-Pro) and a Kepler Lite would be coming out. None of these reports appear to have led anywhere.

Arguably, Russian Monte Cristo device is Kepler non-Pro/Lite.

What about the youtube video with Kepler Pro chilling in a tub? Was it fake? Are they not indeed waterproof?
