Thank you, Jeff
Plus, as you pointed out earlier, re-setting that coin expiration clock is nice, as I often go months without thinking about those coins.

OIC.

I haven't listened to that one, either, but I'm going to do that as soon as I finish this post. If I cannot replicate the problem, I'll let everyone know.

For those who received the $5 credit, did you make the purchase on an android phone or tablet? or via a (non-android) computer? I see a few complaints on the forums of people not getting the credit and I've checked several browsers and only see the clickable apps when using Android (not the desktop). The promotion also refers to a requirement to have the Amazon Underground App in order to make the purchase (which isn't necessary or possible on a Kindle tablet, from what I can tell, since they automatically qualify for Underground apps).

I purchased the app on my Fire HD6 using Silk Browser. The $5 credit came through quickly for me.

YW - my credit also arrived quickly; about a minute or two. Now I can sit on my dust collecting coins for another year in hopes that some app will catch my eye.

If only Amazon would let me convert my coins into store credit. I'd get myself an Echo Dot.

That would be nice, although I only have 2 cents worth of Amazon Coins left.

I bought the app on Windows 7 in the Pale Moon browser. I do have the Amazon Underground app installed on multiple devices though, maybe that's important.

Thanks all for the input. went ahead on my PC for both accounts, nearly wiping out coins on one. Both got the credit, although one has only an android simulator app "registered" to it (and no Underground).

Doctor Who is coming back to Amazon Prime Video as a US streaming exclusive

Quote:
The first eight seasons of the modern BBC version arrive on March 27th

Amazon's staring contest with BBC Worldwide's North American chapter over the streaming fate of Doctor Who is over. The company announced this morning that it's signed a multi-year licensing agreement with the British broadcaster, one that'll make Prime Video the exclusive American streaming provider of the beloved sci-fi series' modern incarnation for the indefinite future. Prime members in the US will be able to watch seasons one through eight and their associated holiday specials on March 27th, and the ninth season — Peter Capaldi's second as the Twelfth Doctor — will be made available this fall. (The tenth season is scheduled to premiere in 2017.)

This is a major victory for Amazon in the company's larger battle with competitors like Netflix and Hulu. When Amazon started to yank Doctor Who and other pieces of BBC programming from Prime Video last year, it did so because its licensing deal allowed competitors access to the same content. That didn't fit within Amazon's focus on exclusive programming and original content, and the company decided it'd be better off ignoring the BBC entirely than having to share. It seems a year of the silent treatment was enough to open the door to an exclusive deal, and now Amazon has access to one of the BBC's flagship franchises. It's unclear how the Doctor Who partnership is going to affect the fate of other BBC programming on Amazon, but it could set an interesting precedent.
That explains why Doctor Who suddenly disappeared from BBC America a couple of weeks ago.

I hope this means Amazon will let some of BBC's other programs back in on its coat tails, even if they don't go exclusive. I have all 9 seasons of DW, but I was about to watch Torchwood and Sherlock. It definitely bummed me out when they disappeared.

Google Play has the Foo Fighters' Saint Cecilia EP on sale for $0.00. That's right, nothing.

Saint Cecilia is an EP by American rock band Foo Fighters. It was released as a free download on November 23, 2015. Initially intended as a sign of gratitude to the group's fans, the EP was also dedicated to the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris.
--"Description provided by Wikipedia under Creative Commons Attribution CC-BY-SA 4.0," via Google Play.

I didn't recognize any hits on the album but, then again, I'm not really a big fan of the kind of music that the Foo Fighters play. I can say that it is classic Foo Fighters stuff and that the album is rated 4.6, from 3,209 reviews, at Google Play.

It seems like there are quite a few MobileReaders who like classical music; but I don't have a good feel of how many MobileReaders care for the genre/subgenre of music that the Foo Fighters crank out (I'm not conversant in this subject, but I would call it hard rock), however. Maybe there are a lot of non-members and lurkers who do, I dunno. Anyway, here's the link.
