Right now I'm pretty equally using my Kindle Paperwhite 2 and my iPhone for reading books; my iPad gets used mostly for comics. I haven't even picked up my Nook Color in months! Guess I should sell it.

Because it is impossible for me to read on my Kindle Fire HDX (it reboots constantly when reading using the Kindle books app that is built in), I have doing most of my tablet reading on my Nexus 7 lately.

I'm reading equally between my iPhone/iPad, and my T1. The PaperWhite 2 doesn't get used as much as I thought it would - good thing I only paid $44.

I'm still using my Samsung Galaxy Player 5. It is several years old and works great...using Moon reader.
I was looking at the iPhone 6 Plus yesterday...woooooo what a device...might be the "one that rules them all" for me...replacing both my iphone and 5 so only one device. |

Kindle Fire HD 2012 version. Love that little device. Also will use my iPhone (or any other smartphone I've had in the past)
(I remember having an old mp3 player that read ebooks. Funny thing is the screen wasn't even two inches square. I actually read Peter Pan on that thing.) So glad to have a Kindle now though. |

I'm currently reading on my Kindle Fire HDX because that's my latest toy, but I probably prefer reading on my Nook HD if we're talking LED screen readers; it's easier to hold than the smoother Fire HDX - I find it to be slippery without using a cover on it. I'm also using Mantano Essentials on the HD which I prefer to the Kindle reading software.
I'm using the green-tinged background because it makes the blue haze at the edges less noticeable as compared to the white background. I'm still not enamored of the Kindle's limited reading adjustments, as compared to Mantano or Moon+ Reader, so I haven't been bothering converting my epubs to a Kindle-friendly format and have instead just downloaded Moon+ Reader and am reading my epubs that way, after I've transferred them over via Calibre Companion. All-in-all, though, my favorite reader is the Sony T1 because it is so light to hold. |

I agree, the Nook HD (which I don't own) definitely has a better body in the "actually going to be held by humans" category. For sure. Quote:

Lately, I acquired a new Nook GlowLight... and I have to say, I vastly prefer the screen to the Paperwhite that I got rid of. |

One of these days I'm going to get a front-lit e-ink reader since I don't have one of those yet. Probably won't be a Paperwhite. Maybe I'll look at the Kobos since I don't have any of those.

Me too - they built those things to last. Four years of pretty much daily use, fell out of my backpack onto concrete a couple of times, and it still works just fine. I haven't even noticed any major change in battery life.

I am using the last e-reader model from a pioneering company that has pulled out of the market who is apparently not happy with the prospects for profitability and growth. Despite being the 'first in' they are the 'first out' too apparently.
The good part is that this makes for short-term hardware discounts. This company makes a laughably overpriced snap-on case with light for the e-reader. The company does its best by not including an 'expensive' piece of plastic known as a stylus along with the e-reader...probably in order to avoid the perception of looking 'too complex' next to major competitor products (who also don't include one), even though including one is clearly useful. The result is more DSi XL stylus sales from China. This company, like most in the market, is not interested in removable batteries but does thankfully offer a removable MicroSD slot. |

I took my Kobo Mini with me to Europe earlier this month but despite carrying it with me most times, I never switched it on (then again, being on-the-go is not always conducive to reading)!
As much as I have been enamoured with eInk, my go-to device lately has been my Kobo Arc (original). |
