The rights for the In Death books reverted back to Nora years ago and she still has them for sale. Personally, I am glad Mel Gibson's production company couldn't decide on a script. I hope the books are never made into films or a TV series as I don't think the main characters would be easy to cast. Plus TPTB would probably water down Eve's character too much to make her more feminine and likeable. **Shudder**

Rogue (which was produced for DirectTV) and House of Cards (Netflix) are both out on DVD. The first seasons anyway. Spartacus was a Starz series and it's out on DVD. So it looks like these types of shows are only for their streaming services/cable channel for a limited time and then are made available for DVD. If they are successful anyway.

I finally finished labeling all of my books in my new Calibre library with where they were purchased. I had to guess on a few of the freebies as I just don't remember. I mostly went by my library at stores plus email receipts. I couldn't find my receipts for the Julia Quinn 2nd epilogues from way back when, but I knew I had purchased them direct from HarperCollins. It made me realize how much I miss the heyday of Fictionwise. I also am amazed at how many stores have gone out of business: Fictionwise, Books on Board, Diesel, and now Sony. I also had one or two books each from various places back when you would pay and then they'd email you a link with the download I've been buying ebooks since 2000 and I much prefer the actual storefronts we have now Last edited by library addict; 03-18-2014 at 08:07 PM. |

Others I can think of that went out of business would be CyberRead, Direct Ebooks and PaperbackDigital.

Free, Drowning by Rachel Firasek, rated 4.11 with 119 ratings at GR. blurb: "I dare you." Those words would change adrenaline junkie, Alice Harrison's life forever. She's a party girl that doesn't believe in love until she meets a man that only writes about it. Seth James escaped his overbearing father and moved into one of the James family's vacant condos, hoping to create the music he loves in peace. But the fragile calm he's envisioned shatters when a tiny woman with a world full of energy bounces out of the elevator and nearly takes him out. With the patience of a saint, Seth seeks the dark that keeps Alice from enjoying life. He challenges her to exorcise the demons in her past in order to discover the true meaning of love. But when the walls fall down, the hidden deceptions will bare the ugly truth about a woman drowning in sorrow and a man who may not know how to be her hero. *Drowning is a New Adult Contemporary Romance suited for 18+ due to some violence, language, and sexual content. Please be aware that this book is not for the faint of heart. It deals with real issues of getting pass abuse at the hands of a sadist. This is a stand alone novel in this series and does have a HEA.* |

The Jamie they cast is perfect! And about selling rights to the wrong person, I believe this happened to Kelley Armstrong with Bitten. They are basically re-writing the series - she has no say, and she blogged about it. There are a number of series that I hope never make it to screen, because I don't think they could be done justice.

I never expect a movie to be true to a book but I do enjoy them. I liked One For Money movie even if Ranger and Morelli are wrong and Stephanie was made to look competent. I think it's neat to see what Hollywood can come up with. We know right now they need all the fresh ideas they can find. Just think of it as Fan Fiction that is what I do.
