In a mad push to finish my big project. Managed a few novellas this week. Read:

• Silent Night by Hope Ramsay (D/1 stars)
• Have Yourself a Messy Little Christmas by Molly Cannon (C+/3 stars)
• Christmas Curveball by Shari Mikels (C+/3 stars)

I had a better reading week.

A Knight's Enchantment - Lindsay Townsend - 2
Running Wild (Battle Creek #1) - Linda Howard & Linda Jones - 4
Ripped - Sarah Morgan - 4 (yes this one is xmas themed - had to get it after a SBTB squeefest)

Ooh, the prices look nice. I don't track that though.

Added Ripped to my To Buy list, but I am not buying anything new until I finish processing the books I bought last month.

Friday's Calibre update now allows you to select any column even custom (but only 1) below the cover.

It would be nice if we could select a different value for each virtual library!

These are just some of the books I bought in the past two weeks.
I have to get everything organize when I find time.

The apartment is ready for Christmas. Hubby just needs to get his school junk upstairs and give me back my nook. Today I am going upstairs are pulling out all the decorations if he doesn't get that hint the well I will think of something!

I actually read this week. More of Reveling Us just got an hour left in that book. So far nothing has happen. This is turning out to be a filler book or the author is losing steam.

I read The Cop Who Stole Christmas by Christie Craig. (3.5 Stars) Not one of her best. I realize this a self published effort but it lacked the zany humor her other books have and seemed a bit rushed. Almost all her books are what I call fast page turners and this one was but it just needs some polish. It's a fast read about the size of a HQ book.

I love my new Kindle Fire! I am using it with Moon+ Pro Reader and Calibre Companion and it's works perfect for me. It has a nice wide bezel that makes it a joy to hold. My Nexus has no side bezel so there is nothing to keep from accidentally turning pages.

Guilt by Association by Gilbert Morris - 3.5 stars (book 1 in the Danielle Ross Mystery series)
The Cavalier of the Apocalypse by Susanne Alleyn - 3 stars (book 1 in the Aristide Ravel series)
Heaven Can't Wait by Pamela Clare - 4 stars (book (novella) 1.5 in the I-Team series)
Meant to Be by Terri Osburn - 3.5 stars (book 1 in the Anchor Island series)
Passions of the Dead by L J Sellers - 3.5 stars (book 4 in the Detective Jackson Mystery series)

Series, series, series! *sigh*

(Very little reading done this weekend; yesterday and today I rearranged my closet (and my husband kept asking me, over and over, if I had ever worn certain clothing items and the answer kept being, over and over, "no". It got unamusing pretty quick ). I had great plans to read a ton today but, aside from closet reworking, I got caught up watching a Craftsy class on quilting for beginners )

Nice haul! I'm eyeing The Cop Who Stole Christmas but I haven't read Gotcha! yet so I'm holding off still.

Yeah, I tried putting series instead of title, but I didn't like the way it displays "None" under the covers that are not part of a series, so I swicthed it back to title.

Blossom, I moved the Laura Wright book[s- I have both] up in my TBR pile. Also I notice you bought the Jean Haus books, would you mind letting me know what you thought of them when you read them please? They've been on and off my watch list for the past year.

Loosheesh, congrats on getting your closet done, I guess the good way to look at it is that now you DO have more time to read! And I hear you on those series. I finally had to break my TBRnow pile into series I want to finish and new authors/books. Much as I loved the Kobopalooza last month, my TBR pile just grew exponentially out of control too.


As for the new Calibre feature, it's really neat but I just can't keep up!

I've had a very sloooow couple of reading weeks. I read in two weeks what I'd normally read in one week, or almost in one week. 8 books makes me feel like a slacker

Work has been nuts and well, the whole buying and organizing of bought books seems to take time away from the actual reading of books! I know we've all lamented that before, but couple that with my actual work going bonkers and I just haven't read enough Seems I was able to buy enough though!!!

I'm loving the new calibre feature as well - thanks apesmom!

So I decided to get my 13 y/o son an ereader for Christmas and wanted to get him a tablet reader so he can take advantage of games and (limited) internet usage as well. I was all set to get him the Fire but after reading all of the comments in this thread, I WANT THE FIRE FOR ME!!! So, does it make me a bad mom to get me the Fire and give him my PW??? I'd actually buy one for both of us but I don't think I can justify that...

I've been perfectly happy with my PW but after seeing you all talk about the Calibre Companion, I want to use it. I like it much better than the Collection Manager for the Kindles/Kindle PWs. I know CM probably does more but I can't figure out how to use it other than to just import collections from calibre and go - which is fine, but it looks like there is a lot more functionality using CC, or at least more intuitive functionality...

Not sure what I'll do at this point... prolly be a good Mom and get him the Fire and hold out for one for myself till next year sometime. :sigh:

After seeing the positive comments in this thread--thanks especially to Blossom!--I have ordered a Kindle Fire HD that I plan to give my better half for Christmas. if he's not happy and exited about, I can always keep it.

Library Addict - I've been thinking about doing this for the new year...My biggest concern is understanding css/stylesheets (not even sure I'm using the right terminology). I know I can manually tweak away at the books to my hearts content but I'm thinking there is a better way. Ideas for a partial tech dummy? I'd appreciate any tips you might have
