I checked and (1) you're right: the tour can be seen using the help button (2) I was wrong: no slide explaining how to manage the home screen tiles (but still 10 slides on the Aura).

Do the custom dictionaries work with the 2.6.1 firmware? In the past there was a problem with the custom dictionaries, I don’t remember exactly with which firmware but I don’t want to upgrade if I can’t use my custom dictionary.

Agreed. My preferences, in order:

1. One banner as in 2.5.x, but at the top or bottom (user-configurable) of the screen.
2. A frame like 2.6.1's "not full-screen" view, but with much less padding - making the top and bottom bars the size of the banner, and the sides scaled to match. In essence, a double banner.
3. A smaller version of the 2.6.1 rectangle, without the excess space between the power status and the amount read, which the user could position manually. (I realize that the current placement is probably intended to hit a generic dead spot on covers, but it's not universal.)

Other improvements:

a. Use the actual cover image's dimensions when in a "frame" environment, instead of shoehorning standard epub covers into a 6x8 rectangle and framing THAT. Lots of covers are more like 6x9; there's zero point in double-matting them. (This includes both the sleep/off screen and home screen tiles.)
b. Make the power/sleep status and the amount read the same size.
c. Display the page number next to the percentage read.
d. Allow the user to pin tiles on the home screen - favorite shelves, for instance.
e. Rearranging tiles would be handy, too.
f. Center the text menu at the bottom of the home screen!
g. Allow the user to trump book-specified styles that they don't like, such as font faces, line spacing, and margins. (My current book looks like it's double-spaced and locks the font face. Not cool, at least not for regular text.)

There's been some talk of slower page turns on 2.6.1. Can anyone who's made the jump speak to this?

Specifically:

• Which reader are you using? (Glo, Mini, etc)
• KEPUB / EPUB / both?
• Internal / SD / both?
• Does it seem to get better after some reading?

I have found no change in page turn speed on my Glo with either epub or kepub books in the internal memory. I saw in the OP that there were performance improvements, but I haven't noticed any change.

I believe you are correct. FWIW, I personally feel the page is more balanced looking in 2.6.1 - just the right amount of white space on top. And yes, a little less than 2.5.1.

Kobo can modify anything, I don't care, except page display. He should however squash long-lived page display related bugs... (looong paragraphs...)

I feel exactly the same way. Any new feature to page display must be OPTIONAL or CONFIGURABLE but the bug-fixes should be the priority.

Not so. 2.6.1 has less whitespace than 2.5.2, bit more than 2.5.1.
