Yeah, to be honest I can't figure how to do that. Is there a really easy way without knowing a lot of code?

But what I was implying is that I was pleasantly surprised that it worked so well on my Kindle without me having to do anything.

This may be very selfish but being extremely computer illitarate I, for what ever reason, cant seem to get either of the first 2 Tor books, Mistborn or Old Mans War, on to my PRS 505 and if I am honest dont understand any of the computer lingo that is being discussed regarding conversion's etc, etc.

So does anybody have any plans to upload them on to Mobileread as I have been able to put them on to my reader from there easily in the past.

Thanks in advance, and sorry if it seem's lazy I am just a bit out of my depth here!

libprs500 is very easy to use. It has a standard point and click interface that is certainly good enough to convert the HTML version to a LRF readable on your Sony. You might need to install python first, I had no problem installing libprs500 (but I already had python).

What is python?

I use LIBPRS, unless JS had beaten me to the punch and uploaded a .lrf copy to the forum, but do not remember downloading any crushy snakes onto my desktop.

Is it a program like flash or java? Am asking mostly out of curiosity.

Python is a programming language, created by a fellow named Guido van Rossum. It's a lightweight, object oriented, cross-platform script language, and is free and open source. Versions of Python exist for Windows, Mac OS/X, various flavors of Unix and Linux, and for other OSes. (There's even a partial version of Python for Palm OS, called Pippy.)

More info about Python is here: http://www.python.org

Well, since neither flash nor java are programs, yes it is a program just like them.

Actually, all three are different programming languages. You write programs in the language.

okay.

So I kinda knew that they were languages. Honestly, I used to know stuff about computers and things about gadgets.

What I meant when I erroneously called them 'programs' is that there applications that run using those languages on an OS, and without those extention/kernel dealies, Homestarrunner.com or netflix doesn't play well with your computer.

Thank you for your replies and reminding me why I work on a boat.

I tried out the latest version. If you are using Windows, there is a nice installer,
linked from here just run it and you are up and running - no need to install python separately, the installer takes care of all that. But please note that if you install and use the "Device Driver' - not selected by default - then you may have trouble with Sony Connect software thereafter....

I have tried to convert the first 2 Tor offerings to something readable in portrait format on my Sony Reader to no avail. If someone has successfully converted the offerings to .LRF and would be willing to e-mail them to me privately, I would be most appreciative. I have found that even if I manage to get the text converted, I can't increase the font size enough to make it readable for my old eyes. Usually when I convert a book using Kovid's software, I set the point size to 12 point and then end up reading the converted material at the medium or large setting on my Reader.

Download free Mobipocket creator convert PDF or whatever to mobipocket format with it then use libprs500 to convert the mobipocket to lrf. Thats works fine on the Sony prs 505. Print size is good. I don't have your email address or I would try to email it to you.

Frankly speaking I don't understand what you are talking about.
Tor's second book was sent in 3 formats. One of them HTML. When you upload it into Book Designer, it treats it just like any other HTML file. It means you can set up any size or other setting that you want. There is no difference between converting HTML from TOR and any other book in HTML file.
