Sadly, a lot those people actually pulled out their phone (a 4S), held them side-by-side, then marveled at how much lighter (etc.) the "new" phone was compared to their old one. I'm sure Apple was absolutely thrilled. "We really can give them the same old phone and they'll happily buy it!"

Sheeple are the people portrayed in the Dopedangel's video, and that kind of person actually deserves the title. There is no possible reason to respect those peoples choices, but we certainly should have some pity for them.

It is rather ignorant to believe that all choices are created equal.

The original ipod (and all its iterations) wasn't innovative? Or how about the itunes store - which pretty much single handedly redefined how music (and later movies/tv shows) could be distributed/sold.

How about the original iphone and the original iOS - of which without, smart phones (as we know them today) and andriod would quite possibly not even exist today. And almost certainly would not exist with the look and feel we know today.

I have to laugh a bit at all of this. Amazon's Play store, their music/video services, the android phones, etc, etc all followed Apple's lead - even if maybe they aren't so much today.

Have they themselves innovated and improved upon what apple is currently doing? Are their products better now than apples? Maybe, I honestly can't say with much of an informed opinion, but to say that apple hasn't been innovative since the 90's is plain crazy.

Edit: And let's not forget the whole ecosystem apple created with its products, one that everyone else is now trying to replicate.

Innovate once, and as long as it is successful, make iteretive small updates bit by bit -- and keep your customers happy.

The success will be seen in the constancy of your numbers.

Off course ScotiaBurrell is correct, people are entirely in their right to make any choice they want, it is their money and time. Besides, how else do you explain Jersey Shore, cosplay, rap or John Locke?

I do not expect ANYONE to hold my "thoughts, opinions and values", and I certainly hope that mine are unique to me.

However those people in Dopedangel's video did not appear to be able to hold " "thoughts, opinions and values" in the vacuum between their ears.
