The feet are the foundation of the body. If you don't spend a little extra time 'building' the foundation, nothing will be right with the rest of the construction.

There is a reason why the old beat cops wore heavy duty brogans. They were on their feet all day long. We can't do that in Teva's and still expect the same support from out feet. Arch support isn't only from the bottom. The top of the arch needs to surrounded 'from the top' and held in place. Although I live my Tevas and have walked all day in them, I can certainly feel the difference at the end of the day between wearing them and a good pair of lightweight hiking boots!

The single happiest 'foot moment' came when I stumbled into an orthopedic shoe store and had a couple of pair of 'working shoes' put together for me. I have a pretty wide foot but obviously an orthopedic shoe store carries good looking shoes wide enough to use as pool floats! They even carried orthopedic sandals. Good looking, leather sandals with an orthopedic footbed contoured to molds taken of my feet. I wouldn't use them for river running or jungle trekking as I would my Tevas, but they sure are comfortable for city walking!

I agree. When I was looking for a pair of shoes to bartend in, another customer, a chef, told me to get Danskos. I informed her that $120 was a bit high since I hadn't started my first day of work yet. She insisted that they were worth it and I'd appreciate it after a long day on my feet. Boy was she right! I regularly worked 12 hr shifts an my body would be dog tired, right down to my ankles, but just past my ankles, my feet, were fine. It was the difference between a friendly and fun bartender and a grumpy one. No one likes a grumpy bartender.

Chacos I wear for kicking around, but the lack of elevation in the heel make them less than ideal for standing on your feet all day. My feet wouldn't hurt, per se, but I would feel more fatigued when I bartended in Chacos.

I really have to stop going shopping ... I'm broke Luckily I have to go back to work next week, so I won't have any time left for trying on clothes

So I bought a new dress and a new shirt today. Both are red (so I finally have something to wear with my georgeous red pumps ). The red dress is the one I ordered online a while ago, which turned out to be too big. I wanted to buy the same dress but one size smaller, but sadly enough this was sold out in the online store. So I went to the shop in the city centre, and found it there!

No photo's of the dress yet, but I have a couple of (me in) the shirt. Now I have a shocking total of three shirts that fit me

I do need to go out to buy flip flops tomorrow though ... And a new bag would be nice too! Did I mention I'm broke?

(ignore the gnarly nailpolish. We had a girl's night and they forced me I'm going to take it off soon ...). Ignore my hair too, it's like it knows it doesn't have to co-operate when I'm on vacation.

That's a very nice top. Forgive my ignorance, but is the black bit part of it, just pretending to be an undershirt, or is it really an undershirt?

It's a very tight tanktop (so not actually a part of the shirt). I have to wear it with this shirt, otherwise the top is too big and everyone can see my underwear

Well, it looks very good with it. Next time I get my kilt on I'll upload a snap — but that might not be until September.

I have two new dresses! Just thought I'd show them off here My wardrobe is still almost empty, I'm really going to have to buy some more basics.

LOL, I just noticed that I always stand in the exact same position when I photograph myself

@pdurrant: I'm really looking forward to those photos of you in a kilt

What do you think about aladdin pants? They are also called harem pants.

I just happened to have 3 pairs of them in different colors (wine, grey and navy) in a thin textile and... they're the most comfortable things I've ever wear!!

I love the ones with scarves. Also love Iri's dresses, and the style of wearing them with slim black leggings.
Back in the dark ages, when I was in high school (a long time ago in a land far away), I had a favorite outfit. It was black leggings with a hot pink and black vertically striped bigshirt (I think they call them boyfriend shirts now). It hit me right above the knees, and I wore it with a wide black stretch belt. I wish that was in style now - not only was it comfortable, but NOW I have the black pumps to wear with it that I didn't have then!! :P

All the things which are way too big, look boyish/manly/dusty/... are trendy now, boyfriend style. So I think you can wear that lovely shirt no problem although it should be called husband shirt... Wait, it's pink and black?

They do look incredibly comfortable! Personally, I tend to stay away from anything that makes my legs look bulky like that. But you're skinny, so you can probably pull them off

Yep, boyfriends sure are hot right now Oops, I meant boyfriend cut of course I second what Anh says. Most of my pants these days are boyfriend cut. Shel, I think that outfit would look amazing! Go for it

If you ever have the intention to take a trip to Eastern tropical nations, like Turkey, India... remember to wear nothing but these pants. It's like wearing nothing, really it helps the women avoid the sunlight, the heat and the insects perfectly.
