... and what advantage the edge offers as a WRITER that other readers don't: it is one.

Hey Guy, the link didn't work (cut off in the middle). Were you using a search term or tag on readwriteweb?

Or, more precisely, the middle was cut out. The "..." in the middle of guyjack's displayed link is the actual link. Assuming that guyjack didn't type it in that way, it might be bug in the forum (shortened the link for visibility, but then took the shortening too seriously).

But if they're identified, then they're not Easter Eggs any more.

So it does. The forum (or something) didn't shorten it there - maybe guyjack copied it wrong? Anyway, here's a shortened version which seems to work:

Interesting tablet, actually.

Sorry, that's what I meant to say.

I saw the link in another thread after and wondered whether that's the device he was talking about. I can't remember what I'd seen months ago about that HTC that turned me off it. Maybe it was simply an early video, showing more bugginess and less polish than now when it's closer to being released. (It's not out yet, right?)

Not shipping yet, and they expect developers to jump in sometime after it does ship (no early shipments to developers, that is).
They're not talking about a proper pen, though, which is something that sucks ink out of a bottle or (preferably) an inkwell, in my opinion.

Sorry about the link folks! I was in a rush when I copied it, so I may have cut it off inadvertently. The reason I like the View with Scribe is that I can take notes and it keeps synched with Evernote or other apps. It will have honeycomb soon and it will (I was told) have the capability to run Google Voice over 3g and 4g and Wi-Fi. This way I only have to carry 1 device instead of several.

I noticed in the demo video that the representative did not touch the screen with anything but the pen. There was no mention of palm rejection. That is a big problem with the iPad's iAnnotate - you can write normally on the device.

An example of this is the twitter client for my Nokia 810. Even though the app itself continues to run on its now unsupported OS, twitter changed its API in the mean time. Since very few developers are still maintaining apps for this device, let alone writing new ones, there's no one to incorporate these changes into the app to make it actually work.

Granted, since a lot of people have Android phones, and there must be a bunch still in the 1.x stage of life, it will probably take a while for us to get to the point where we start listing apps that DO work on 1.6 vs those that don't, but that's another long-term worry if the edge doesn't update Android versions.

I feel cheated, expected so much from this device.
Slow with capped CPU speed and above obselite OS.

And I am still using G1 on latest cyanogen and it is still more responssive than EDGE.

Seems that Google even not like you enought to give you google services what all other Android devices have.

What google services do you mean? No pre-Honeycomb tablet has access to the Android Market.

I, also, expected so much from the device, but I like it a lot. I guess our expectations were different. Mine were, arguably, better.

I think he probably means email, calendar ,etc. The whole google services sync. I also don't understand why we can't have have complete sync with all google services when even ipad wifi and the ipod touch which are no phones or android devices have access to all google services.
