Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat with Sony Touch PRS-600 and it all works beautifully.
Awesome, the cover picker cures my last real annoyance with the program. You have saved me from having to find decent covers for my mother-in-law's Steven King collection. Who by the way is able to enjoy reading again after ten years thanks to Calibre and a refurbed kobo, so thanks, guys! One last wish though. I know user_none said he didn't want to deal with foreign revenue streams , but a get books plugin for chapters.indigo.ca would be wildly appreciated by those of us on this side of the distribution fence. Geographical restrictions bite. By the way the tax thing is actually very simple between Canada and the US if you look at it, as a dual citizen ive dealt with it before. |

I just released 0.8.0. For a writeup on what's new in 0.8 see
http://calibre-ebook.com/new-in/eight If you have used the test_eight_code tweak you can either delete it or leave it be, it has no effect in calibre >= 0.8.0 Thanks for all the feedback. |

@dsafire pm me what you know and where to look for the tax stuff and I'll look into adding it and other Canadian sources you recommend.

Kovid,
I would also like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for keeping Calibre essentially "self contained" so that it is portable and I can keep it synched between my desktop and my netbook. For me it makes a whole world of difference in the level of usability. |

@CRussel, What are some Canadian stores? I don't see any need to add chapters.indigo.ca because they just redirect to Kobo for their ebook purchases.

When using the all on 1 tab feature, is there any way to give the custom columns a little more width, it is hard to click the drop-down arrow on some of my columns. I have a 24" monitor and I stretched it out but it still doesn't give any more room to the custom section. Thanks Nyn |

That said, I am confused about the problem. In my tests there is a 10-15 pixels gap between the scroll bar (if there is a scroll bar) and the edges of the controls (the drop down arrows). Are yours closer than that? On what system? |

@nyn: aren't you lucky. You can make the toolkit do something that I can't.
![]() There is nothing to check. The 10-15 pixel is a 'little bit of space' that appears between the boxes and the scroll bar. Clearly you do not have any space. The reason seems to be the length of the column names - you have a long one. When I made one of mine very long, I see the same problem. The change I made does not fix your problem. The group box gets bigger, but the scroll bar remains over the controls. More thought is required. |

Actually, I think if you go in through Chapters, you end up with a different set of prices and availability, though I could be wrong. Honestly, I only buy through Chapters when the content isn't available from Amazon. (My Amazon account is a US account, my Kobo/Chapters account is a Canadian one.)

@nynaevelan: I fixed the problem (I hope) by permitting the column name labels to wrap. It should work in your case.
I don't think it will work if someone has a very long column heading that is only one word. At this point I think I would say "don't do that". ![]() See the attached screen capture. |
