just checked my bulk email account. Sony informed me that my reader has been shipped. I hope it gets here before my flight to San Diego on wednesday....its gonna be a long flight from DC.

My question is a little different than everyone else's. I signed up for and received the Sony card within the required time frame but am in no rush to get the Reader. From my understanding I have until 1/30/08 to order the reader. Do you think that if I wait until after Christmas I will have a better chance of receiving the 505 as opposed to the 500?

Thanks for all the information in this thread. It's been very handy.

i just called today and they said the reader is out of stock. They said I'll receive an email and a phone call in two weeks.

Looks like the reader is back in stock on the Rewards website (do a search for "reader"). I can even add it to my cart. The problem is that the price doesn't get reduced to the promo price. I called the Redemption Center again, and they say (as they have been) that I'll get an email in the next 2 weeks detailing how to order the Reader and that I can't order it from the website right now.

Feels like I'm getting the run around because it makes no sense that I shouldn't be able to order the Reader on the site (since it's available) and have them adjust the price discrepancy after the fact.

Oh well, I guess we'll have to continue being patient with this.

And I'm able to place the order and the discount show up too :-)

I'm now a happy camper, hehe

The e-mail is timestamped 6:29pm.

My order was placed Oct.8; I just called them again and heard the same old BS - you'll be getting an e-mail. I argued with the guy and told him that I have been hearing this e-mail stopry already for 3 weeks and he kept saying sorry he does not have any more information. I just placed another order on sonyreward site. The price was $59.45. So I have two orders pending now, 2 readers, both for $59.45 I used the same Sony credit card for both orders. I wonder what are they going to say now.

I saw that the 500 is back in stock on the sony rewards site, I was able to add it to my cart, and the discount seemed to apply. I called to make sure it wouldn't be cancelled and was told that, yes, my order will be cancelled if I haven't yet received the email from Sony. So it's up there right now, but there's no point in ordering yet, apparently.

How many people have received the email letting them know that it was in stock?
I have not received an email yet and the site does not show the special price.
I called and the CSR was being an arse and he did not help me.

I never got the email, but after logging in, searching for the reader, and then adding it to my cart I saw the special price. You won't see that until you add it to your cart.
