After about a month the top layer (under the flap rivet) started separating and I could see that the rivet would come out eventually. I sent I-nique an e-mail stating my problem with the manufacturing defect (I also asked if it was possible to upgrade to a real leather cover). I got a reply that they were sorry and would send a leather cover to me, no questions asked. It sounded a bit too good to be true. Today my new cover arrived, real leather and a magnet for the flap instead of a rivet ![]() Usually you mostly hear about complaints, but this time I want to lift Tuff-Luv/I-nique and their more than excellent customer service. ![]() BTW, the leather cover is only £24.99 Peter ![]() Last edited by wolw; 02-02-2011 at 02:36 AM. |

Well I don't know if this belongs here or in the lights thread
![]() I hate to say it but I've sent back my Amazon lighted cover. I love the design - the way the light is integrated and is always there is fantastic, but the weight of the cover just changed the whole experience of using my K3. It no longer felt light to me, and I never liked having to unstrap, open and turn on the Kindle while avoid pressing forward/back. Of course, the way I use my K3 makes a big difference - I rarely take it out (and when I do, I know I want something to cover it but just haven't settled on anything), and I have a light where I read. Granted the extra light from the cover's light made reading a lot easier, so I am going to look at attachable lights, but that's definitely for the other thread ![]() I do find the K3 a bit slippery though, so I want to find something non-slip to stick on it. Without a cover, I can't afford to lose my grip on it ![]() I may change my mind if I start changing the way I use it though. |

M-edge Antique Jacket Reviewed
Jane asked me to let others know about the M-edge Antique Kindle cover. Well, it arrived today. It looks just like the pictures at Amazon. It came in a clear plastic bag with a Kindle sized piece of Styrofoam where the Kindle goes.
Two things struck me right away. First was how light it feels and second is how securely the suede lets me hold it; whatever the opposite of slippery is, this is it. It’s very easy to put the Kindle in and take it out of this cover thanks to two fixed retention straps for the base of the Kindle and two elasticized straps for the top. Both the front and back covers are made of some ridged material but there is no clasp to hold it shut. Thanks to a hinged spine the front cover doesn’t try to pull open though. I think assembly of this cover needs to be better thought out. The right top elastic tie down is slightly pulled away from the backing. Despite the appearance of being sewed all the way around, I suspect the gray felt inner cover is glued to the backing even though it looks stitched. A bigger potential issue is to how well the two elastic tie downs will age; over time, will it stretch and stop working? For now the M-edge Antique Jacket holds my Kindle securely. I didn’t order it with the M-edge book light since I already have practically a collection of book lights. It accepted other brands gracefully but with the same caveats you have with all booklights. Holding the Kindle with this jacket was more comfortable that with other ebook covers I’ve used. The cover folds back readily giving a solid grip with either right or left hand without keeping you from reaching the page buttons. In sum, I like the cover despite the assembly flaw. At $50 you'd expect it to be better assembled. However it’s other characteristics recommend it well enough to me to keep it. |

Is it a small slit on the right side? I believe that is where you insert the M Edge e-Luminator light. My New Yorker cover came with a little cardboard insert stating it was for the light.

In addition to the buy one get one 50% off Valentines's Day Special, code SHOPVDAY11
M-Edge Groundhog's Day Special Will it be FREE e-Luminators? Or FREE Screen Protectors? M-Edge is ready for winter to end early! There are 2 ways to win during our Groundhog's Day promotion! If Phil, the Punxsutawney groundhog, tells us that spring is coming early, all M-Edge customers will receive a FREE e-Luminator booklight with their order. If winter will be sticking around for 6 more weeks, M-Edge customers can bundle up and receive a FREE screen protector with their purchase. Either way, you win! Keep an eye on our Facebook page and website to find out what the freebie will be on February 2nd. This special offer is available on Groundhog's Day only! So stay tuned for Phil's prediction and check our Facebook fan page for more updates! Limit one per customer. Offer valid only 2/2/2011 through 11:59 PM EST. With the storm, I have a feeling it will be the screen protector. Last edited by AmusedDiva; 02-01-2011 at 11:33 PM. Reason: typo |

Turns out the promo is for the light after all! yea!
So you can buy a light and get a spare light for free! (You can also combine the free light and the v-day promo if you're buying a cover. I had thought you could combine them to get three lights, but the v-day code is only good on a cover.) Last edited by ApK; 02-02-2011 at 12:45 PM. |
