When I clicked on the link this morning, it said that the first book of the trilogy wasn't available because of complaints about the formatting. Didn't check the other two, but probably the same deal. Note said to check back later.

I've tried navigating from the link in this post, clicking through from the Today's Deals page, and also searching for the title and clicking through from those results.

Perhaps it's some temporary glitch, since the other three all show up properly. However, I've got a crazy day, and don't want to have to come back to try later, so I also checked Kobo US, and it's available there too for the same sale price. Done!
Same here, and I see this note at the bottom of the product page:

Won't it suck if the book only becomes available again after the sale ends?

Thanks, I've been a prime members for years (my kids order a lot of stuff) but haven't really taken advantage of the ebook offers. When I joined years ago my understanding was that only one book could be borrowed at one time and the selection wasn't all that great so I forgot about it. Only recently I've gotten mildly interested in checking out the prime offers of ebook with audible narration. Now, it appears you can not only borrow books (up to ten at one time) but also "buy" ebooks via amazon prime membership. I put "buy" in quotation because if I'm not mistaken those free/bought prime books disappear once prime membership is terminated.

Daily sales on Amazon.com:

Three Hearts and Three Lions by Poul Anderson - $1.99 - Link.
Goodreads

Quote:
Transported to a medieval realm of magic and myth, a World War II resistance fighter undertakes a perilous quest in this classic fantasy adventure.

Holger Carlsen is a rational man of science. A Danish engineer working with the Resistance to defeat the Nazis, he is wounded during an engagement with the enemy and awakens in an unfamiliar parallel universe where the forces of Law are locked in eternal combat with the forces of Chaos. Against a medieval backdrop, brave knights must take up arms against magical creatures of myth and faerie, battling dragons, trolls, werewolves, and giants.

Though Holger has no recollection of this world, he discovers he is already well-known throughout the lands, a hero revered as a Champion of Law. He finds weaponry and armor awaiting him—precisely fitted to his form—and a shield with three hearts and three lions emblazoned upon it. As he journeys through a realm filled with wonders in search of the key to his past, Holger will call upon the scientific knowledge of his home dimension, the destinies of both worlds hanging in the balance.

Before Thomas Covenant, Roger Zelazny’s Amber, and J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, the great Poul Anderson introduced readers to the Middle World and the legendary hero Ogier the Dane. Inventive and exciting, Three Hearts and Three Lions is a foray into fantasy that employs touches of science fiction from an award-winning master of the speculative.
The Fireman by Joe Hill - $1.99 - Link.
Goodreads

Quote:
From the award-winning, New York Times bestselling author of NOS4A2 and Heart-Shaped Box comes a chilling novel about a worldwide pandemic of spontaneous combustion that threatens to reduce civilization to ashes and a band of improbable heroes who battle to save it, led by one powerful and enigmatic man known as the Fireman.

The fireman is coming. Stay cool.

No one knows exactly when it began or where it originated. A terrifying new plague is spreading like wildfire across the country, striking cities one by one: Boston, Detroit, Seattle. The doctors call it Draco Incendia Trychophyton. To everyone else it’s Dragonscale, a highly contagious, deadly spore that marks its hosts with beautiful black and gold marks across their bodies—before causing them to burst into flames. Millions are infected; blazes erupt everywhere. There is no antidote. No one is safe.

Harper Grayson, a compassionate, dedicated nurse as pragmatic as Mary Poppins, treated hundreds of infected patients before her hospital burned to the ground. Now she’s discovered the telltale gold-flecked marks on her skin. When the outbreak first began, she and her husband, Jakob, had made a pact: they would take matters into their own hands if they became infected. To Jakob’s dismay, Harper wants to live—at least until the fetus she is carrying comes to term. At the hospital, she witnessed infected mothers give birth to healthy babies and believes hers will be fine too. . . if she can live long enough to deliver the child.

Convinced that his do-gooding wife has made him sick, Jakob becomes unhinged, and eventually abandons her as their placid New England community collapses in terror. The chaos gives rise to ruthless Cremation Squads—armed, self-appointed posses roaming the streets and woods to exterminate those who they believe carry the spore. But Harper isn’t as alone as she fears: a mysterious and compelling stranger she briefly met at the hospital, a man in a dirty yellow fire fighter’s jacket, carrying a hooked iron bar, straddles the abyss between insanity and death. Known as The Fireman, he strolls the ruins of New Hampshire, a madman afflicted with Dragonscale who has learned to control the fire within himself, using it as a shield to protect the hunted . . . and as a weapon to avenge the wronged.

In the desperate season to come, as the world burns out of control, Harper must learn the Fireman’s secrets before her life—and that of her unborn child—goes up in smoke.

Books from Prime Reading are borrowed just like having a Kindle Unlimited subscription. So you would lose any you currently had borrowed if you cancelled Prime. But Amazon First Reads are actually purchased for free. They remain in your account just like any other purchased Kindle book.

Two of Lavie Tidhar's novels are on sale on Amazon.co.uk:

The Violent Century - £0.99 - Link
Quote:
For seventy years they guarded the British Empire. Oblivion and Fogg, inseparable friends, bound together by a shared fate. Until one night in Berlin, in the aftermath of the Second World War, and a secret that tore them apart.

But there must always be an account . . . and the past has a habit of catching up to the present.

Now, recalled to the Retirement Bureau from which no one can retire, Fogg and Oblivion must face up to a past of terrible war and unacknowledged heroism - a life of dusty corridors and secret rooms, of furtive meetings and blood-stained fields - to answer one last, impossible question:

What makes a hero?
A Man Lies Dreaming - £1.99 - Link
Quote:
Deep in the heart of history's most infamous concentration camp, a man lies dreaming. His name is Shomer, and before the war he was a pulp fiction author. Now, to escape the brutal reality of life in Auschwitz, Shomer spends his nights imagining another world - a world where a disgraced former dictator now known only as Wolf ekes out a miserable existence as a low-rent PI in London's grimiest streets.

An extraordinary story of revenge and redemption, A Man Lies Dreaming is the unforgettable testament to the power of imagination.

It looks like Hodder & Stoughton may have a sale on:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=sr_st...price-asc-rank

I saw the Mary Stewart Crystal Cave series at various fairly inexpensive prices (99p - £2.99)...

Green Earth by Kim Stanley Robinson is $1.99 at Amazon US. This is a slightly condensed combination of his "science in the capital" trilogy.

I highly recommend Three Hearts and Three Lions. One of my all times favorites.
And also The Broken Sword by the same author.

And if you Medieval mixed with Science Fiction try Poul Anderson's High Crusade. I always enjoyed it as a fun read.

An excellent fantasy book. Highly recommended, even for those who are no longer "Young Adults".
