With your new firmware, there is no software jailbreak.
The serial jailbreak does have a pin method so you don't have to use a soldering iron. Read the entire serial thread if you are interested.

At this moment, I have to say no.
Those with the know-how have either left the site, are in grad school, are very sick or dead or presumed dead.

Until we get new people, the answer is no.

There's a few people trying, but mostly its just throwing spaghetti at the wall, and seeing if anything sticks. Nothing so far.

If there a new paperwhite on prime day ( I doubt it ), I may buy one and try to write up a tutorial using something like these guys:

These "pogo" pins would not need to be soldered.

the basic idea would be to epoxy these pins to a flat board on the outside, in the right layout, then drill some holes in the back of the case, and tape that board onto the back. You would not even have to remove the front panel at all.

They still may be good for just laying out in a block of Styrofoam, and pressing onto the contacts if you do disassemble everything.

The needs are rarely technical.

More as Cinisajoy writes, "where to find" things (features/options) on a Mac.

Easy ones, like:
"How to turn off the 'safe archive handling' thing"
The one that opens any compressed archive, checks it (mostly for absolute pathnames) and then repacks it with relative pathnames.

"How to find/open the 'terminal' application"
For when something is really easier to do from the command line.

Access to the command line terminal on all of the major consumer operating systems is being hidden deeper and deeper in obscure locations of the GUI.
(Even in Linux.)

Honestly, when I answered that "safe archive" question Saturday (as the first Mac person to arrive) .... I googled to find the answer! But I did check the answer on my mac, so that's some value I added.

yesterday i bought a kpw3 32g wifi white from amazon jp and i want to know if i could jailbreak it?
I know that you have already said that this model is not supported, but i saw a post from a website, which said it "maybe" can jailbreak when "The device must be new, in-the-box, never before powered on." i haven't received it so that's ok. This post is wrote in Feb so i don't know if it works now.

We do not have a build of the "factory-only" firmware required for the jailbreak.
The post you describe was one made, asking for image copies of USB storage on brand new Kindles.
We have enough of those to work with now, but are lacking the person required.

The person who extracts those things is away at school, earning a graduate degree.

If your Kindle when it arrives is running a firmware version 5.7.anything, you can install the 'update blocker' directory name described in Step #7 to keep it from updating to something that can't be jailbroken (later).
