They did the same thing to my sister. Twice.
The second time she got an infection.

My uncle was discharged 72 hours after hip replacement surgery.
72 hours later he was dead from the blood clots which are expected after surgery.

yeah, they scare the shit out of you about clots. take a TON of blood to check it for clotting. apparently I am a very good non-clotting patient. I didn't even have to do the self injections in my tummy. I do however take a baby aspirin every day and I guess I will have to do that for at least a year. also had to delay any non emergency dental work which was a bummer as I was in the middle of some major work that my original orthodontist had screwed up. oh well

but sorry about your uncle
