If used as the name of the muse, yes. However, terpsichore has a secondary meaning as choreography or the art of dance which should not be capitalized when English sentence structure does not require a capital.

@DNSB Chambers 11th edition gives both versions of terpsichore, wordnet does but in a confusing way. Wikidict doesn’t give both. And I did read that there is an instrument called Terpsitone - an improvement (?) on theormin. I don’t suppose anyone else wants to know this but FWIW.

@Martinoptic: Yeah, I love looking things up in dictionaries (as most of the posters in this thread have likely already guessed) and, at one time, my friends banned me from playing Trivial Pursuit with them.

Not sure if the terpsitone was an improvement on the theremin but the dancer controlled the sound by the movement of their body. The terpsitone could also control coloured lights.
