Oh bliss! Just to have a housekeeper, live in or out. We do have a couple of garden girls who come in about once a month to keep things in check, but apart from that we do all the household chores ourselves (or don't do them depending on mood and what else looks more interesting and that's everything). I have found listening to audio books makes housework more bearable. |

The caregiver who comes in twice a week to stay with Mom so I can get out does "light housekeeping. " She does all the vacuuming and mopping and cleans the bathrooms. It is wonderful!

Hi Betty, It's nice to see you pop in here. How are you and your mom doing?
I'm finishing up laundry, thinking about if I can ignore the lawn, and if the neighbors will hate me if I do ignore it. I would love it if lawn would only grow to a certain height and stay there! |

I did consider that, but figured if I couldn't have backyard chickens, I couldn't have a goat... Then again it likely would have cost more to upkeep (and clean up after) the goat than to just pay a lawn care service. *I ignored the lawn and didn't mow it today.* |

I remember being chased around the house by our sheep Sussie. It was unusual because we lived in the Eastern surburbs of Sydney at the time. We had neither a mower or a car and when it escaped and made its way through Charing Cross it made quite a stir when it was brought home in the back of the milk truck. After escaping a few times we had to send it to a farm. I never did find out where we got a sheep from while living in the middle of the city.

I'd like to know why a woman can tell everyone she's enjoying reading '50 Shades of Gray' or reads another Harlequin Romance every week and nobody raises an eyebrow. But let a guy say that he likes pornography and he's branded 'pervert' for life!

Romance novels are rarely pornography. The racy sections are really not that racy, even the bondage ones. (shrugs) I would also guess that there is an implied difference between writing about sex and filming sex. If it is just words then it is more imagined. If you are taking pictures or filming it feels more voyeristic. Just my take

I guess you've never read any Harlequin Romances (which actually says a lot for your good taste in reading matter) but except for the lack of four-letter words, they are as pornographic as an 2-cent a word porno novel. I used to work part time in a friend's used book store. He refused to carry them because they were too far off the scale.
Quote:
They tell me it's almost as blatant as 'Debbie Does Dallas.' There is a marked double standard that is applied to men and women regarding porn. Men are thought, by the general public, to be the main consumers. But the video rental industry reports that women rent far more porn than men! I know... it's not really for them. It's for a friend.
