I finished "The Madness Season," very enjoyable, and am about half-way through "Her Wiccan, Wiccan Ways" by Traci Hall (still free at Amazon), which is okay for a teen paranormal romance, and not my usual fodder. |

I think the problem with it (and I must emphasize "problem" is not really the correct word), is that the stories really are for a teen market. The book is definitely marketed correctly, but it's just a little too young in outlook for me. However, I was so impressed with his writing that I purchased one of his adult books of short horror fiction. I really do expect to read thematically adult stories, if not with severed body parts and flying guts, then at least stories that explore the nature of evil in adult situations. Don |

Finished Shadowfires by Dean Koontz. This was one of his earlier works written under a pseudonym which he has rereleased. Typical fare from him and light reading but I have to say that one aspect of the book really revealed to me that I have truly been assimilated into the current culture.
SPOILER ALERT: One key aspect of the book involves the male hero and the female heroine being separated and the hero realizing that the woman is in danger and he needs to contact her and warn her. I had the hardest time getting over mentally yelling in my head - JUST USE YOUR CELLPHONE!! Cellphones not being prevalent at the time this was written this was not an option of course. I'm now reading Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. |

Have you read any of the TNGR books? If not, I can give you a list of what order to read in.

Anyway, I've finished reading the available Southern Vampire Mysteries/Sookie Stackhouse books, and I moved on to John Ringo's There Will Be Dragons. I liked it! It was long (about 700 pages equivalent in pbook), but I honestly didn't notice. Now I'm reading For Love of Mother Not, which is turning out to be pretty good, too. |
