This offer is not on my home page, but it will let me open it and see the terms; although I don't get the counter. Calling Audible was fruitless. She kept answering my question about a change in policy with the answer to a question I didn't ask.

Like I said previously, consistency is not in Audible's game plan. Try calling again in a week. Maybe you'll have better luck with a different rep.

I think I have to agree with the monkey on this one. Amazon is even advertising the B4G10 deal on their site. That's not something they normally do for members-only sales. I can see the banner (not on the Audible homepage, but on the offer page) and it says I have 1 down 3 to go. I do not have a membership. Nowhere on the offer page are the words "members only" mentioned, and it explicitly says "customers" who buy 4 titles.

I'm still on the fence but I'm leaning towards giving this a try. A couple of screen captures and an IM to customer service and I'll probably be okay.

I had an online chat with a rep and he said the offer was only for Gold and Platinum members, even though it doesn't say that in the terms. He also said that members get notified of these offers by email, even though it's clearly visible to everyone on Amazon's Audible page; which surprised him.

Anyway, as usual these offers are a YMMV proposition.

Before Amazon bought out Audible, I used to think Audible had the best customer service of any company I had ever dealt with. I don't know, maybe I just had good luck then. Now, even though Amazon's customer service is great, Audible's sure has gone downhill. It's such a shame and gets to be very frustrating.

I have the 'one book a month' plan with Audible and I bought four books last week. On this thread I saw the offer mentioned:buy 4/get 10 dollar (which I didn't get:email or other) and I emailed customer service if I could get the 10 dollar. Within half an hour I got a return mail and the 10 dollar appeared on my account.

What I've noticed with Audible is that, yes, they do generally correct mistakes if you contact them, but why do they make so many mistakes in the first place? Customers shouldn't have to keep contacting them.

The big mistake Audible made for this promo is the confusion over eligibility. The terms have no membership restrictions, but the reps keep insisting that this offer is only for Gold and Platinum members.

I was speaking generally.

But I'm not so sure the credit would have been applied automatically. Audible seems to be hit or miss with some of these offers.

Indeed. Even the offer page lists 3 ways to make qualifying purchases; only 1 of them involves credits. Plenty of people can qualify using the prescribed methods without ever using a credit.

My two chats with reps have stated this promo is only for Gold and Platinum members. Of course, there's always the YMMV variable.

Aladdin shows as $14.95 on Audible and $9.95 on Amazon. The Audible price is the qualifying price. This book counts and you should argue the point with them.

I do not have a membership plan of any kind. The only Audible title I've gotten this month is the Aladdin freebie. I have a counter on my offer page and it shows 1 down 3 to go.
