Thank you, thank you thank you! 6.14 is working without crashing at all! The only problem I am having is that when I import a book I get this error -
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "calibre/gui2/tag_view.pyo", line 179, in index
IndexError: list index out of range

It doesn't seem to be a problem. The book does import and convert. Is anyone else getting this error?

Yup. I think Kovid indicated he would address in the next release. Just keep an eye out for 6.15. In the meantime I'm in book heaven with a mostly working 6.14.

Have you looked at 1Password? Or perhaps LastPass if you are a FireFox user? (There is a beta version of LAstPass for safari)

When I try to add several files to Calibre it crashes - how could I get a crash report to help you?

Also, it seems to think HTML files are ZIPs?

I'm seeing both of these behaviours.

Not sure what you mean here? When you add a HTML file to Calibre it follows all the links to pick up images etc, and stores the results as a ZIP file.

Oh, right. My bad.

Well it still asplodes when I try to add several files - it may just be one specific file that causes the crash though...

EDIT: Tried it out - it gets errors every once in a while and explodes frequently.

OK. How do I do that? How do I open calibre in a manner that allows me to set that parameter (don't you just love working with humanities grads?!) Thanks for your assistance. I appreciate it. njw

You have to open the command window (gulp) and type the command Kovid gave you.

BOb - (who thinks that any basic computer class should start with the command line)

Kovid,

First, thanks very much for your efforts to get calibre going with Snow Leopard. Working great now.

I have one question though (no too significant.) I have a Quad core Nehalem Mac Pro. Back under Leopard when I told calibre to download all subscriptions it would work on 8 at a time. I always thought this was because it was a hyperthreaded quad core and it made it look like an 8 core machine (works like that in Parallels). Anyway, since the SL "fix" I see it only trys to dload 3 news sources at a time. While this is certainly good enough I've wondered if this was intentional or just a byproduct of the way you had to fix it. On my core 2 duo Macbook Pro it always (and still) just grabs two news sources at a time.

Anyway, thanks again for the great work. Just curious!

Kovid,

Thnks for that. Speeds things up a bit.

Also, I wanted to mention that this last version .18 I think didn't find my news subscriptions. I've updated calibre almost every time you've put out a new one and this has never happened before. Any reason you can think of that would cause the news subscriptions to just disappear?

Thanks again for your support....

the news scheduler was re-written in 18. It should have picked up your old settings, but the migration code is not bomb proof.
