I want to enter in this competition too mainly because my daughter just begun the school holiday and she wants to read but we only have one ebook reader and we must have two to avoid fighting.
Thanks

While I personally shouldn't really win as I already have an E-book reader, I most certainly should be able to have the opportunity to get my wife off my back about having her own reader. So, I am entering on behalf of my wife whom I believe should win primarily so she stops nagging me!

I should win just because. I may also give one of the many generic answers that others before me did like: "I should win so I may spread the awesomeness that is e-ink screens" or "I'm a poor student who needs such a device for school" or "I should win just because"... uh... *ahem* anyways. I should win.

I would like to win.

This would be a great gift to give to my wife, since I have a reader. I'm not likely to be able to buy one on my own, as my summer school teaching job evaporated this week, because not enough students signed up. Thanks.

I should be the one to win so I can give it to my husband. He convinced me to purchase a Sony Reader as a joint Christmas gift this year. I really didn't want to. i couldn't understand why anyone would want to read books electronically. Well it is June and he has been unable to get the reader away from me long enough to read an entire book! I'm not sure if he would like a Sony like mine or a Kindle but I know he would love to have his own.

I would like to be entered into the draw please.

I do not believe myself to be more deserving than any of the other folk who have registered an interest but i would give the reader to my partner if i were lucky enough to win.

Being in the UK i would choose a red Sony PRS-505 so it doesn't get mixed up with my silver one.

Good luck everyone!

I would like to be entered into the drawing, please. I think I should win because since Amazon won't make folders for it's kindles, I will just have have multiple readers to organize my books. That is my story, and I'm sticking to it!

I would like to register.

Why should I win? Because I have butter fingers and that seems like a stellar reason for winning a new K2. (I dropped the K1 -- screen go kablooey.)

I would love to enter the draw!

I would dance with joy if I won because...

... instead of fighting over our current eReader, my wife and I could have one each! No more discovering that my SciFi ebook or Pratchett has been buried behind the latest Chick-Fic!

*dashes off to the device forums to chat with other Sony users*

Hello :

Pls, I would like to enter the draw for an e-reader. I am a PhD student researching the uses of community media to improve the lives of people living in the South Pacific Islands. The South Pacific region is a fascinating but often misunderstood region. It covers almost one-third of the world’s surface, yet contains fewer than 8 million people. Not enough, really, to catch anyone’s attention. So the plan is for this research into community media to inspire and assist the local populations explore development option, strengthen their indigenous cultures and languages, boost the local sector economy, and improve good governance but on their terms, not post-colonial, neo-liberal packages that come from most aid agencies. It’s good stuff. Of course, I would show it off to my students in Fiji, Nauru and elsewhere. Libraries simply do not exist in the Pacific. There is no place for young people to read. Books are prohibitively expensive (for example, FJ$35 for a basic non-fiction book, compared to the average wage of $3-$5 an hour, if you can find a wage job. Housegirls earn $1/hour). Internet penetration is very limited, very expensive, and limited mostly to the urban elite. The young people in the Pacific would gobble up e-readers if they were made available AND at an affordable price. The second use for the e-reader would be to continue my dharma studies!

Please enter me in the drawing. I have been eyeing a Kindle 2 for the longest time, but simply cannot afford one at this time.

I should win, in my humble opinion, because (a) I am making a total switch to ebooks to help the environment, (b) save space at home, (c) save money and (d) well, just because.

Sometimes when one does an internet search, they find really valuable help. This was the case last year when I started researching ereaders. I found Mobileread, by far the best forum I have found on the internet.

Please enter me in your contest. My choice of ereaders would be the Sony, so that I too can contribute to ongoing help and assistance to "newbies" at the Mobileread site. It's a great reward to share knowledge, tricks & tips, & favorite authors with others new to the Mobileread site. And who can say enough about those very talented members who take the time to help solve our problems.

cheers

Please enter me in the contest.

I am really pleased to see something on ebooks that is not restricted to the US!

I have been contributing to the forums on the Sony PRS505 already and this is what I would like if I was lucky enough to win. If it was blue or red even better - as I would give my silver one to my hubby. He has hardly ever read in his life as he has always struggled with his eyesight - even with glasses, he finds most standard fonts too small and it really tires him out. Now he is at retirement age it is getting worse. Most of the books he likes aren't available in our local libraries in large font size.

But he loves the Large size font on the Sony Reader and says it doesn't tire him out at all, so now he keeps trying to use my Reader to read James Bond books ...
