I've yet to experience the problem, either. I'm on Windows 7 and firmware 4.35. I always return to My Books before connecting. I cut and paste books via Windows Explorer and don't use Calibre. I've never seen the extra sqlite files DNSB mentioned, so it appears my Libra is closing the database properly.

I only had the issue twice. Once when re-connecting immediately after a book import, and once when accidentally connecting with a Kobo Store kepub open.

Have you read any KePub between connecting tot he computer when you've seen that the database remains open? I don't have this problem and I also have not read any KePub with this firmware.

Can confirm it also happens with Calibre & Fedora Linux, it's not limited to windows and must be something on the Kobo itself that f's up.

We don't use kepubs on any Kobo, only epub books. I wonder is it kepub usage (even if not the last ebook) that causes it?

I believe when the issue occurred on another firmware issue in early 2022, epubs could unmount properly but not kepubs. I use kepub almost exclusively.

My suggestion is since the last time you've connected to the computer, do not read anything in KePub and read just ePub and see if it works when you go to the home screen before connecting to the computer.
Maybe the problem is related to KePub. |

This isn't necessarily dispositive, but I read mostly kepubs and haven't had this issue. They're sideloaded kepubs though, not Kobo-bought-and-synced books.

No issues here with Clara HD and Clara 2E. None.
All kepub and a few PDF, no epub on devices kepub are created on transfer with KTE driver All books sideloaded Sideload mode = false Country = USA Wi-Fi and BT always off Never sync 18 patches applied Windows 11 (previously 10) FW 4.38 The only concession I make is returning to Home page before connecting. |
