I finished season two of Snowpiercer on Netflix. I enjoyed it. Sean Bean is obviously enjoying his role as the bad guy.
I watched the first episode of Van Helsing. I've watched six episodes in the past, can't remember why I didn't continue. But I read that one of my favourite actors, Kim Coates has a role in the last/latest season, so I thought I would give it another chance. |

Just over halfway through 'Katla'. A dark and brooding story, set in Iceland and surrounding the events in the town of Vik,where the volcano of the title has been throwing out smoke and ash for a year. Missing people start to re-appear, usually naked and covered in grease and ash. One woman is someone who worked there twenty years earlier; her modern day 'self' has come to check out what is happening and confronted the woman. A child killed in a road accident three years earlier, has returned to his father, who works on the scientific vucanology research station.
Very reminiscent (to me) of the French series 'The Returned' from a few years back. America made a very poor remake of the first series of this, but failed to follow up with a second (as the original had TWO series) which sort of wrapped everything up for the viewer! I shall finish 'Katla' having watched five of the eight episodes, and report back as to whether it is a good suspenseful tale, or ultimately, a wash out! |

And I have finished 'Katla'. A good weird series, is it sci-fi, is it supernatural? Or is it a series of events that have an underlying connection? A very satisfactory conclusion, yet with scope for a second series, should they plan it that way!
Neither of my two best friends would ever watch this, as it is partly spoken english and partly Icelandic, with english subtitles. Pity because they will miss what I consider one of the best shows for years, just because they 'don't like sub-titles'! |

I've put Katla on my list, it sounds like something I would like. Thanks for the recommendation. |

We just finished The Cliff from Iceland, following One Lane Bridge from NZ, both on Acorn.

Over the weekend I watched the first season of American Vandal with my sister. We both enjoyed it.
I've also almost finished the second season of Prodigal Son, iirc the show was cancelled, which I think is a shame. I'm not sure what to watch next, I might watch some X-Files until I know what I want to see. |

For whatever reason, I've been watching Dexter. Currently into season 7 of 8.

Just started watching series 2 of 'Ted Lasso'. I liked the first series, a laid back comedy/drama set in an English Football Club, where they have imported a trainer from the U.S.A. Initially, he knew nothing about football, or how to handle the temperamental egos that made up sections of his team;but he has learned, and grown in the process. Harmless, almost sedate fun, it is a pleasant way to pass thirty minutes!

Last week I went on a Sci-Fi binge and watched Nightflyers and Another Life on Netflix. I enjoyed both, though I liked the latter better.
Tonight I started an Australian series, The Gloaming, on the streaming service of my cable provider. It's a crime series with a spooky atmosphere. |

Sadly, Series 2 of 'Ted Lasso' is (so far) a huge let down after the fun and games of Series 1. I will stick with it, but already (halfway through) I feel that it has been made more for contractual reasons, than because the writer(s) had a bunch of good ideas to play around with!

I'm catching up with the second season of Nancy Drew. I saw that the series is renewed for a third season.
After finishing this I'm not sure what to watch next; in September I'm going on vacation with my sister for two weeks (we booked a cottage) and we're saving a bunch of films and series to watch then. I might just continue my re-re-watch of Midsomer Murders. |

I really enjoyed the second season of Nancy Drew, it's a fun and somewhat silly series.
Since then I watched the Netflix documentary about Bob Ross and I've started the second season of Law & Order: SVU |

Almost finished watching a complete run of 'Criminal Minds'. One I liked on terrestrial TV but as they never seemed to show the episodes in the right order, and often shifted the time slot, it was hard work to watch that way. Since I have my streaming box, life has been much simpler and better organised!

Just finished binge watching Star Trek: Discovery.
Season 1 was great, then seemed to go downhill in Season 2, then fall off the cliff in Season 3. The show should be renamed to Star Trek: The Michael Burnham Chronicles. |

During our vacation my sister and I watched the second season of Doom Patrol, the first season of Loki, the LulaRich documentary and a bunch of movies. All very enjoyable.
But it did leave me with a need for horror (not something my sister enjoys), so last week I watched the first season of Evil (how did I miss this?) and on Saturday I started Midnight Mass. I have two more episodes to go, but I don't think I'm done with horror by then, so I need to find what to watch next. |
