My method for dealing with UPS (who turn up between 7 and 8pm around here) is to redirect my packages to a depot where I can collect them at my leisure. They are generally available by 9:30am which makes me very happy when it's a new toy arriving!

I emailed Amazon at midnight, it's now 2.45 am I just woke up to two replys to my email. The first says it's being released on the 7th, the second says it's out of stock.

After 20 minutes on the phone a Supervisor has told me there is a stock problem and they have no idea when they can ship it.

Did you order the 32GB Oasis? Because my 8GB shipped in the morning and I ordered later than you. If so, then it would seem the 32GB one is out of stock, but not the 8GB one.

Yes I pre ordered the 32GB. My order still says

Not yet dispatched

If Amazon have a stock shortage and have to delay pre orders why couldn't they be bothered to tell customers

I received my 32 GB Wifi KOA2 today (31 Oct) in Japan.
And my Merlot cover has shipped today and is arriving tomorrow, even though it said 12-15 November when I ordered in on 12 October.

John Lewis maybe from 8.30am but it's only the 8gb model, other is the 3g 32gb which shows in stock from Amazon if your still speaking to them for delivery tomorrow ,more expensive though.

Yes I saw both those options, on JL and Amazon. It's the 32GB I want and I can't justify the extra £60 for the 3G. I'm stuck waiting

What's your Oasis delivery date?

I was getting it tomorrow. Now I'm not.

On the phone now (well, on hold) with a rep. I want another overnighted. It was top of the line, 32gb 3G no offers with blue cover. Amazon was using its own delivery service and they lost it!?

I was already charged for a device I'm no longer getting and had sent books to it and made it my default.

Announcement morning order with prime. I'm pretty upset right now.



Why wasn't the immediate and automatic answer "We've sent another package with these same contents out to you overnight and you will receive it a day late. Here's some extra Prime/some discount for our screwup, please call us if you have any questions"?! Why do I have to call them instead of their fixing it!?

Finally got off the phone. They're not getting a new one to me until November 29. Completely unacceptable. How is this even remotely okay? You lose someone's item you replace it IMMEDIATELY. Looking into how to get this fixed correctly. The rep was apologetic, but didn't waver, so time to climb higher. I'm never a jerk to reps, ever, but it's time to fire off some polite emails.

This is not remotely typical of Amazon's customer service, and it isn't the first time they've lost a shipment. It is, however, the first time they haven't fixed it correctly the first time.
